Our culture is built on five core values that inform everything we do. We encourage collaboration, feedback, ownership, and have a growth mindset. We know experience comes in many forms, some visible on your resume, others not. No one candidate will be a 100% perfect match to our description, so if you thrive in a fast-paced, intellectually-charged environment and have similar experience to what we are looking for, we encourage you to apply.

About the role:

As the Senior Manager of Scaled Education, you’ll play a crucial role in leading a world-class scaled education program that serves prospects, our users, our partners, and our own employees with product and business education to support HoneyBook adoption and business success.  Our mission is to build a scaled education program so valuable that it’s worth subscribing to HoneyBook in and of itself.

Reporting to the Director of Education, you’ll oversee our live virtual class program, the HoneyBook Business & Partner Academies, and our internal product enablement programs. You’ll work closely with our Help Center and Knowledge Management teams, as well as Marketing and Product to empower independent business owners, drive product adoption and delight, and to position Education as a growth lever for HoneyBook.

This role is hybrid to our SF office, 2-3 days per week (current expectation is Wednesdays and Thursdays in-office).

Here are some things you’ll be working on:

  • Along with the Director of Education, developing our scaled education strategy and roadmap in alignment with key stakeholders and with the company’s growth priorities
  • Leading a team of both virtual facilitators and instructional designers focused on developing compelling, impactful, and high quality educational content and experiences
  • Collaborating with our go to market, product, and customer experience teams to support member campaigns, marketing campaigns, and product adoption programs across the customer lifecycle
  • Becoming a deep partner with our other marketing content teams to develop and deploy a truly cohesive education program and experience
  • Aligning with our Ecosystem partner team to ensure our partner enablement program helps our affiliate/referral partners drive more referral traffic and represent the HoneyBook brand and product effectively
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders to develop enablement programs that turn HoneyBook employees into experts on our product, our members, and our market
  • Further developing our data infrastructure to ensure that scaled education programs are effective, efficient, and driving measurable impact; using data to continually understand and refine our programs
  • Investing heavily in developing your team’s careers, and turning them into the next generation of world-class education professionals
  • Researching and implementing the latest trends in education to ensure our education is truly ahead of the curve

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • At least 8 years of experience in externally facing education roles focused on adoption and retention
  • At least 4 years of experience running high performing and externally facing education teams in a fast-paced environment (preferably tech, and preferably targeting solopreneurs and/or SMBs)
  • Strong professional knowledge of instructional design best practices and a deep understanding of what it takes to create compelling learning experiences across live virtual classes, e-learning courses, short form video, and written content that truly inspires and changes behavior.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing successful Academies built on learning management systems that drive growth and adoption, like Intellum, and a familiarity with the tools of our trade (e-learning course authoring tools, video editing tools, etc)
  • A thorough understanding of the SaaS landscape and how Education can be leveraged as a growth lever across the customer lifecycle with a data-driven mindset
  • A true passion for improving the lives of the people you educate and a lifelong love of learning yourself.  You feel a deep responsibility and commitment to your learners.
  • Stellar cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to build consensus and find creative cross-functional solutions that drive initiatives forward
  • A deep seated need to break the mold, try crazy things, and live on the bleeding edge of what education can do.  You’re a mad scientist in desperate need of a lab, and you’re more afraid of succeeding without trying than you are of trying without succeeding
  • The ability to find joy in helping your team grow and develop.  No one ever had to tell you to put people first because you couldn’t imagine any other way to be.

Bonus points if you:

  • Are or have been an independent business owner or have experience working with them
  • Have created purely business education in the past
  • Have experience working closely with, or on, Marketing teams and/or Product teams
  • Have a background in educating end users on business process
  • Bring experience enabling affiliate/referral partners to be more effective at what they do
  • Have a history of creating powerful internal enablement content that builds both expertise and empathy for the end user
  • Have background working on video game onboarding for new players.  (Front of the line please!)
