Sr Manager, Mexico Controller

  • Position Overview:
    The Senior Manager, Mexico Controller will be responsible for appropriate accounting and reporting of Insulet’s Mexico entities.  This position will be a key contributor to the monthly close process by reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and flux analysis with particular focus on judgmental estimates and budget to actual and trend analyses. Additionally, they will lead implementation efforts for new policies and procedures, will partner with various business owners to improve upon existing business processes, and will oversee the project management of initiatives potentially impacting the accounting and finance functions. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with all accounting related SOX controls.  This position reports to the VP and Sr. Director, Finance and works closely with the Director, Assistant Controller, and various business department leaders.
    Responsibilities:
    • Perform review of monthly journal entries, account reconciliations and flux analysis, with particular focus on judgmental estimates and non-recurring transactions
    •  Partner with the business and FP&A to understand transactions to ensure accounting is appropriate.
  • Manage and mentor a staff accountant with a particular focus on teaching and career development.
  • Maintain quality and timeliness of internal control requirements associated with general ledger reporting within team.
  • Maintenance and support of operational procedures associated with new business initiatives.
  • Provide training on new or existing accounting standards to company employees.
  • Partner with business leaders as well as accounting and finance team to identify necessary operational improvements with potential financial reporting impact.
  • Work in coordination with Director, Assistant Controller in driving process improvement initiatives associated with the close and other general accounting areas.
  • Support various ongoing projects throughout the year.
  • Assist with income tax and sales and use tax process including coordination with third party tax preparers for filing returns and recording the tax provision within the financial statements, as well as state and federal audits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
    Education and Experience
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy.
    • CPA Preferred
    Minimum Requirements:
    • Minimum combined experience of 6-10 years of public accounting/ and Corporate experience at SEC registered entities

    • Ability to manage a process and maintain expected deadlines.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to communicate at multiple levels of an organization.
