Position summary
T-Mobile is America’s supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. Senior Engineer, Data located in Frisco, TX will Prototype, design, and develop internal and external business systems, applications, systems interfaces, databases, and reporting or business intelligence systems, to deliver new systems functionality supporting corporate business objectives.
Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Design and develop complex, real-time streaming, batch, and high-performant Big Data applications in distributed architecture using Hadoop and cloud computing technologies including Amazon web services and Microsoft Azure.

Develop applications using Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Hive, NiFi, PL/SQL, Unix Shell scripting, and object-oriented programming languages (Java or Python).
-
Design and develop complex, enterprise-wide, high-performant Business Intelligence Extract-Transform-Load applications and data processing jobs for millions of rows of data in multiple environments to enable business users to perform business-driven analysis and support reporting requirements.

Design and develop pipelines to ingest data from different sources, clean and transform data, and prepare it for running the machine learning models.
-
Deploy machine learning models as microservices behind REST API.
-
Develop REST-based microservices/API and deploy them as containerized docker images with autoscaling.
-
Extract data APIs in implementing multiple cross-functional customer use cases with API Management product of Apigee edge.
-
Telecommuting is permitted, but applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance.
Skill requirements:
-
1) Building large-scale, real-time, and streaming data platforms utilizing experience with Python, Spark Streaming, Spark SQL, Apache Storm, and Kafka in order to process at least 100 million messages per day.

2) Managing and transforming at least 300 GB data sets, building optimized and performant solutions, data warehousing and ETL solutions while leveraging experience with Azure, AWS, Hadoop technologies, RDBMS and ETL Tools.

3) Utilizing experience with the API Management product of Apigee edge in consuming the API’s in implementing customer use cases.
-
4) Utilizing cloud migration methodologies and processes including tools with Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, and other Azure data services.

5) Implementing database development including Snowflake, MySQL, PL/SQL and MS Access, Oracle 9i to 11g, SQL Server and NoSQL Databases with MongoDB.

6) Utilizing experience with CICD-Ant, Maven, Gradle Log4J, Jenkins, CVS, GIT, and GitHub.
Experience and education requirements:
PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or a related field, and 5 years of relevant work experience.
ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or a related field, and 3 years of relevant work experience.

Candidate’s pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience. At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
