Job Summary:

The Digital Product Design Manager is responsible for the vision and design strategy for Polaris digital products, including in-vehicle infotainment displays, the Polaris, Indian Motorcycle, and Slingshot mobile apps, and the RIDE COMMAND website as well as connected features across these platforms. They will manage a passionate team of designers in ideation, research, design, and definition of the customer experience for digital products. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the design of Polaris digital products from concept to launch. Think strategically, framing design within the customer experience of powersports, and drive execution. 

  • Partner with design, product, engineering leadership to define digital product vision. Articulate design strategy and the value of design, ensuring buy-in at all levels of the organization. 

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure the products meet technical feasibility and design excellence. 

  • Manage design team backlog, workload, and priorities  

  • Conduct competitive, customer, and user research and gather feedback to inform design decisions  

  • Set design standards and guidelines for digital products. Ensure design consistency and quality across digital products 

  • Manage, mentor and coach a team of designers. Run team design reviews. 

  • Attract and develop top design talent 

  • Refine the teams design process with best tools, etc. 

  • Understand Polaris customers & products 

 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in digital product design with at least 5 years of leadership experience with direct reports, including hiring and developing talent 

  • Experience with digital product design for the automotive industry and embedded software/hardware products 

  • Experience leading consumer-facing product design for native iOS and Android apps 

  • A portfolio of your product design work is required when applying

 

Working Conditions 

  • Team-based, collaborative, fast-paced, office / studio environment 

The pay range for Minnesota is $160,000 to $200,000 per year. Individual salaries are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
