SUMMARY

The Sr. Customer Demand Planner is responsible for creating, updating, and improving the statistical customer forecast by utilizing the raw sales forecast as well as engaging with local sales team counterparts to incorporate customer intelligence. The Customer Demand Planner leads monthly forecast alignment meetings and provides visibility to short and long-term plans & forecast adjustments to Leadership.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Utilizes System Resources to model and create unconstrained statistical customer demand forecast based on customer historical patterns, market trends, seasonality, product mix, bias and other factors.
  • Evaluates demand planning data integrity to ensure that analysis is conducted with accurate information
  • Identifies and corrects exceptions and anomalies in the statistical forecast that may impact accuracy; chooses and applies the appropriate forecasting algorithms and parameters in accordance with system parameters; proactively collaborates with BU/Sales counterparts on forecasting demand for new items and addressing exceptions.
  • Leads monthly forecast alignment meetings with Account Team.
  • Provide rolled-up visibility of proposed Customer Consensus Forecast as part of monthly S&OP cycle, highlights risks and opportunities to the plan.
  • Identifies and communicates concerns regarding aged inventory, slow moving & obsolete items (SLOBs), and other excess inventory concerns that are customer specific materials.
  • Delivers against core customer targets including customer fill rate
  • Monitors and actions KPIs (forecast accuracy, In-stocks, Fill Rates); reviews them with Sales Team & Leadership to discuss improvement opportunities
  • High Cross Functional engagement with Leadership, Replenishment, Sales and BU Demand Planning

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • 5-10+ years of experience in demand planning.
  • Strong knowledge of demand planning process in Consumer-Packaged Goods Industry
  • Ideal candidates has experience in S&OP process & KPI reporting

EDUCATION & SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, engineering, or related field or equivalent work-related experience is required.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills to interpret data and draw actionable insights
  • Detail oriented

COMPUTER/TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Knowledge of demand management/forecasting tools
  • Experience using ERP statistical software packages
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Tableau
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word
  • Experience with database applications (Microsoft Access, MS SQL Server, etc.) a plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk or hear. 
  • The team member frequently is required to sit; have flexible use of hands; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. 
  • The team member is occasionally required to stand, walk, and taste or smell. 
  • The team member must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 - 50 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
