This could be your chance to practice ground breaking law for an innovative global tech company!  eBay seeks an experienced and creative attorney to join the legal team supporting eBay’s Americas team as Senior Commercial and Product Counsel.

What you will accomplish:

• In this role, you will work closely with the General Managers of various eBay business units, providing legal support on the roll out of new features and functionality, new categories and new products, as well as to advise and provide legal support for structuring third party partnerships. 
• As a strong issue spotter on regulatory, IP, privacy and consumer protection issues, you will work closely with functional experts in our broader legal department to provide business-focused, end-to-end legal support and solutions to business and technology leaders. 
• A significant component of this role involves the reviewing, drafting and negotiation of contracts for complex strategic partnerships and the evaluation and mitigation of business risks.  The candidate must have deep and demonstrated experience in this area. 
• You will also interact regularly with functional groups within the Company on both transactional work and policy review, including Finance, Accounting, Corporate Development, Marketing, Tax, Information Security, Privacy, Trust and Risk.

What you will bring:

• 5+ years experience with technology, mobile, or Internet space, with a preference for e-commerce 
• Strong commercial contracting and negotiation skills
• Experience in the following areas desired:   
  • Product counseling
  • Privacy/data protection
  • Intellectual Property
  • Consumer protection 
• High proficiency and proven experience working with business and technology leaders, and managing senior level business relationships   
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Flexible and agile thinker, with the ability to tolerate ambiguity in a fast-paced culture
• Ability to cherish innovation, embrace change, and believe that there is always room for improvement
• Willingness to be flexible with the scope and variety of projects to be undertaken in this role
• Tolerance for fast-paced work environment
• Good sense of humor
• JD from an ABA accredited law school
• State Bar membership

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.

$158,800 - $239,800

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
