A Sr Channel Account Manager plays a crucial role in developing and managing partnerships with various sales channels to increase the company's market presence and revenue. This role requires a diverse set of skills and competencies to effectively navigate the complexities of the software industry and establish successful channel relationships.
Skills and Experience - You will have:

  • Channel Sales Expertise: In-depth knowledge of sales strategies and processes related to channel distribution. This includes understanding different types of channels (e.g., resellers, SIs, distributors) and how to optimize sales through them.

  • Business Development: Ability to identify potential channel partners, evaluate partnership opportunities, and negotiate agreements that are mutually beneficial for both the software company and the channel.

  • Relationship Management: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain lasting relationships with channel partners.

  • Technical Understanding: A solid grasp of the Control software products or services being offered. This includes understanding technical specifications, features, and how the software addresses customer needs.

  • Market and Industry Knowledge: Being well-informed about the software industry, market trends, and competitors.

  • Marketing and Sales Support: Collaborating with marketing and sales teams to develop channel-specific marketing materials, sales enablement tools, and other resources that aid channel partners in selling the software effectively.

  • Goal Setting and Achievement: The ability to set ambitious but achievable sales targets for channel partners and work with them to meet these objectives.

  • Data Analysis: Proficiency in data analysis to assess channel performance, track key metrics, and make data-driven decisions to improve channel effectiveness.

  • Adaptability: Should be flexible and adaptable to keep up with market changes and implement new strategies.

  • Negotiation Skills: Effective negotiation abilities to establish favorable partnership terms with channel representatives and handle conflicts when they arise.

  • Leadership and Collaboration: The capability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with various departments within the company to ensure channel programs align with overall business objectives.

  • Strategic Thinking: Developing and executing channel strategies that align with the company's overall sales and growth objectives.

Responsibilities - You will do:

  • Training and Enablement: Providing training and support to channel partners to ensure they have a deep understanding of the software's value proposition, features, and benefits.

  • The Channel Manager should be adept at resolving conflicts and fostering a collaborative environment.

  • Monitoring and analyzing channel performance is essential.

  • Identifying potential market opportunities and develop competitive strategies.
