Primary Duties
1. Researches, develops and maintains relevant business plan models and reporting systems, consistent with the Corporate strategy, and comprised of financial and business related information consistent with similar natural gas industry public companies.
2. Prepares comparative analysis based on Company statistics and industry norms for internal management purposes.
3. Develops, performs, analyzes and provides business plan model that supports the Business Unit's Five Year Business Plan. Acts as consultant to Business Unit Officers and Shared Service Unit heads in development of plans and detail budgets.
4. Performs economic and business analyses on special projects and proposals submitted from various Company departments. Interfaces with management as a strategic resource in determining the appropriate analytical approach, preparing statistical analyses and interpreting results.
5. Coordinates the gathering of Business Unit and Shared Service Unit detail operating and capital budget information.
6. Coordinates and plans modifications of existing planning and budgeting systems and leads in evaluation and implementation of new technologies in the planning and budget process.
7. Provides financial, business and securities analysis and due diligence studies to executive management regarding potential development opportunities. Develops economic models and forecasting scenarios in support of evaluating business decisions.
8. Forecasts long term financial results for the Company and corporate development opportunities in order to secure financing from banks and other lending institutions.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Educational/Experience Level:
Masters degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration and four years professional experience in financial analysis; or
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration and five years professional experience in financial analysis;
Communication Skills:
Requires the ability to communicate, persuade and/or influence internal and/or external customers at a high level such as senior management on matters of a technical and/or complex nature.
Numeric Skills:
Requires the ability to perform to perform algebraic, trigonometric and geometric operations and/or moderately complex statistical and/or accounting methods.
Computer Skills:
Requires advanced knowledge of various software applications to create spreadsheet models, documents, reports and graphics.
Work Conditions:
Works in an office environment.
Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.
Additional Information:
Certified Public Accountant certification preferred.
