Role Overview
The Senior Accountant role at Kantar Porto is part of a dynamic and coordinated Finance function delivering operational Finance specialist services. Reporting to the Financial Accounting Lead, you will work with internal and external partners to ensure processes are performed in accordance with performance and quality standards.

What you’ll be doing
- Assist in maintenance, processing, and production of month/year-end close processes, balance sheet reconciliations, journals, and associated underlying schedules.
- Review all Opex accounts, prepare all period close entries, and lead the Opex review calls with Financial Business Partners and other collaborators.
- Prepare monthly financial documents with Kantar consolidation tool on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Review all balance sheet reconciliations and align with collaborators on possible adjustments needed.
- Support the maintenance of the fixed assets register.
- Assist with audit requests coming through to the Kantar Business Services.
- Support controls compliance and other internal controls requirements.
- Accountable for the quarterly review of account variances analysis.
- Maintain knowledge management and documentation to ensure managers and staff always have access to current and compliant documents and mentorship.
- Build relationships with customers and partners, supervise service delivery, and resolve any issues effectively.
- Develop sound professional working relationships with colleagues across KBS and Local Business, building their confidence and acquiring an understanding of the business.
The ideal skills & experience
- Proven experience as an accountant.
- Experience in producing year-end accounts and preparation for audit.
- Strong technical knowledge of statutory accounting.
- Proficient English speaker, accurately able to read and write English and communicate efficiently.
- Ability to work in a changing and flexible organisation.
- Willingness to work flexibly across geographic time zones during peak periods such as period end.
