The senior accountant will be handling day-to-day accounting tasks including supporting month-end close and ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SOX controls. This person will have frequent interactions with SOX and internal audit team, IT, Facility, Program Management, and finance teams to ensure smooth operational workflows and compliance with internal controls.
Job Summary:
- Drive fixed asset process and accounting and coordinate with operation teams to account for asset acquisition, transfer, disposal, write-off etc.
- Lead the software capitalization process, including coordinating with operation teams of identifying, evaluating software projects for capitalization and project management (cost summary and categorization)
- Perform certain month-end accruals such as credit card spending, T&E reports etc.
- Cross review accounting processes, controls, data source, spreadsheets owned by peer accountants
- Identify and drive process improvement opportunities to enhance accounting operational efficiency and effectiveness
- Identify and advise managers on potential risks of error in existing accounting processes and controls specifically related to fixed asset, software capitalization and accruals and work with SOX and internal audit team to design and improve accounting processes, policies, and internal controls
- Being the accounting contact person in coordinating audit support to internal and external auditors and driving audits to completion on time
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned or ad hoc projects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance is preferred
- Should have a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, with public accounting experience preferred
- Candidate should be able to have good project management skill and multi-task on multiple ongoing projects
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Experience with NetSuite, FloQast, Coupa etc. and Microsoft Suites is preferred.
