What You Do

This position supports newly hired team members in applying key concepts from onboarding, including reviewing and following standard work, identifying and reporting issues using PDCA, demonstrating and following the MTM Way in daily work, and participating in kaizen and team-based improvements. Additionally, this role provides scheduled translation services to support Japanese advisors in both written and verbal communication, ensuring seamless collaboration between Japanese and English-speaking team members.

As a part of the above, and on an ongoing basis will also:

Team Member Development & Process Improvement

  • Establish strong team member relations at all levels, providing support for people development, coaching, and mentoring with a focus on teamwork and inclusion.
  • Support newly hired team members by reinforcing key onboarding concepts and ensuring adherence to safety, standardized work, and problem-solving practices.
  • Guide team members in recognizing problems, applying basic PDCA thinking, and escalating issues effectively to leaders.
  • Promote the MTM Way by modeling MTM principles, maintaining 5S, and practicing respect for people.
  • Encourage and facilitate participation in kaizen and team-based improvements by leading discussions, contributing ideas, and engaging in small problem-solving activities.

Translation & Communication Support

  • Provide scheduled translation services to support
  • Japanese advisors on the shop floor, ensuring clear and effective communication.
  • Attend meetings and facilitate effective conversations between Japanese-speaking and English-speaking team members by providing real-time translation, taking notes, and summarizing key points as needed.
  • Prepare written communications and presentations in both Japanese and English for internal and external customers, auditors, stakeholders, and team members.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the department.
  • Be available to work outside of the normal work schedule, including but not limited to weekends, holidays, shutdowns, and travel as needed (domestically and internationally).

What You Bring

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Products
  • Bilingual (English & Japanese) – Strong proficiency in both written and spoken English and Japanese.
  • Organization & Attention to Detail – Ability to manage documentation, follow standardized processes, and ensure accuracy in translations and HRD tasks.
  • Excellent Communication Skills – Ability to convey complex ideas clearly in both languages and foster engagement across diverse teams.
  • Attention to Detail – Strong ability to maintain accuracy in documentation, translation, and audits.
  • Strong Organizational & Analytical Skills – Ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Time Management & Adaptability – Ability to balance translation duties with HRD responsibilities while managing multiple priorities effectively

What Will Set You Apart

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, Communications, Linguistics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Equivalent work experience in HRD, training, translation, or manufacturing leadership may be considered in place of a degree.
  • Experience in HR, Training, or Compliance – Background in Human Resources Development, training facilitation, or process auditing preferred.
