As a Solutions Engineering Manager at PMG, you will lead a dynamic team of engineers in crafting and executing code that delivers custom solutions for our customers. This role combines rigorous technical skills with a strategic leadership approach to oversee the development and enhancement of existing solutions while also bringing new solutions to life for the world's most ambitious brands. You are expected to ensure excellence in code quality, innovate with new technologies, and foster the growth and development of your team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership:
    • Ensure code quality and product output align with both PMG best practices and industry standards
    • Lead high-impact projects from conception to deployment, ensuring integration with our broader business goals
    • Collaborate with other technical teams and cross-functional units to enhance internal systems and craft requirements for new features
    • Spearhead the roadmap for scalable custom solutions, identifying opportunities for significant enhancements
    • Drive best practices in coding, QA, and troubleshooting within the team, assisting in the refinement of existing solutions and the development of new ones
  • Strategic Management:
    • Provide strategic guidance and technical expertise to client teams, leveraging deep knowledge of media, technology, and innovative trends
    • Encourage and lead team brainstorms and knowledge-sharing sessions to foster a collaborative and innovative working environment
    • Initiate and explore new technologies to address novel challenges or opportunities, expanding the team’s capabilities
  • People Development:
    • Manage and mentor a team of up to 6 Solutions Engineers, setting clear goals and expectations, and providing regular feedback on performance
    • Promote a culture of continuous learning and development within the team, including conducting regular code reviews and one-on-one sessions
    • Provide technical mentoring, especially in areas of expertise such as SQL and Python, ensuring junior staff are well-supported and grow in their roles
  • Quality and Innovation:
    • Demonstrate an exceptional attention to detail by delivering high-quality, unit-tested code and fostering a quality-focused approach in the team
    • Lead by example in both managerial and coding capacities, setting high standards for both output and professional conduct

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience in a solutions engineering or similar role, with a proven track record in managing technical teams
  • Technical expertise in SQL, Python, and other relevant technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to lead development projects and drive a team towards high performance
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, capable of motivating and guiding a team through complex technical challenges
  • Experience in a client-facing role, with the ability to provide both technical advice and strategic insights
