Solutions Architect

The Solutions Architect plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions, driving innovation, and ensuring the successful implementation of complex projects. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in the design, architecture, and selling enterprise solutions. In addition, experience in solution design leveraging modern hybrid architecture to deliver Information, Content and Data Management solutions are key to the success of the individual. Lastly, the role will require a willingness to travel 50% on an annual basis. The Solutions Architect is essential to the continued success and growth of Iron Mountain’s Digital Business Unit (DBU).

The SA is focused and proactive, bringing an entrepreneurial attitude and ownership alongside their technical mastery to partner with key stakeholders in sales and leadership to help us innovate, maintain competitive advantages, and delight our customers and partners while advancing and accelerating sales. 

Responsibilities:

  • Learn the customer’s information environment and identify challenges; provide problem solving as it relates to Iron Mountain services

  • Design and Scope complex solutions, accounting for all aspects of Iron Mountain’s Digital offerings.  

  • Present solution overviews and demonstrations

  • Lead or assist Pilot / Proof Of Concept (POC) development, tracking and support

  • Support technical portion of RFPs and RFQs

  • Gather and share market and competitive intelligence 

  • Provide solution configuration recommendations, build and present architectural diagrams,  quote/schedule/contract/SOW creation, modification and support

  • Support discussions involving integrations and migrations that include complex, pre-existing enterprise systems.

  • Communicate low-code concepts in our solutions and their value to our clients

  • Drive collaboration externally with the customer and internally with the sales, operations and delivery organizations during scope, solution and commercial discussions and accelerate sales cycles.

  • Model ROI models to establish business cases on behalf of our clients. 

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with clients to present and explain proposed solutions, addressing any technical questions or concerns.

  • Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams like Product, Innovation and Engineering to understand business requirements and challenges.

  • Create high-level architecture diagrams and detailed technical specifications for the proposed solutions 

  • Develop prototypes or proof of concepts to demonstrate the feasibility and potential benefits of proposed solutions.

  • Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and trends, and evaluate their potential impact on the organization's solutions.

  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical leadership to other members of our team

Key Skills, Requirements and Competencies:

       5+ Years of experience in at least 3 of the following primary disciplines:

Primary:

  • Understanding of multiple industries / domains (for example, Finance and Health Care) and the potential impact of technology on their business

  • Proficiency in python or similar programming language.

  • Ability to craft LLM prompts to enhance automation and customer experiences

  • Can design solutions that leverage the best technologies for a given problem.

  • Effective communication skills, with ability to pivot between technical and business-focused conversations with ease.

  • Experience in data recognition / analysis technologies, such as Machine Learning, Data Analysis, Artificial Intelligence, Cognitive Neural Networks.

  • Enterprise Software for structured and unstructured data and content management

  • Cloud SaaS in the content services or information management market

  • Strong background and proven experience of consultative solution approaches, pre-sales/ sales process and technology focused-solution selling.

Secondary:

  • Ability to team effectively at all levels of Iron Mountain and customer personnel (to include C-level) on a wide range of topics and issues

  • Knowledge of Enterprise Software including ERP, CRM, Document/Content management Information Governance and BI

  • Enterprise network architecture and advanced networking technologies

  • Enterprise Data Protection- Understanding of top Security, Backup, Recovery and Data protection applications

  • Enterprise data archiving techniques and applications

  • Hyperscaler/storage offerings –  S3/REST, AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google (GCP)

  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills.

  • Strong interpersonal, planning, and analytical skills.

  • Self-motivated and a strong drive to seek information and support in succeeding.

  • Ability to influence and negotiate.

  • Ability to make decisions and think in broad terms, considering the impact to the entire company.

This is a remote role but it requires 50% travel.
