The Opportunity That Awaits You:
The Software Program Manager is the key “get things done” person driving software deliverables to completion and is an integral part of the PROCEPT R&D team. Software at PROCEPT encompasses multiple areas, including our AI capabilities, our cloud-hosted software, and our on-robot components including OS infrastructure, applications and custom firmware. The Program Manager role oversees all software initiatives going on and is responsible for driving cross-functional alignment on deliverables, ensuring compliance activities are performed, managing risks, defining project scopes, objectives and timelines and aligning resource allocation to meet needs. This is not a “schedule jockey”– the Program Manager is expected to use their own technical expertise and judgement to help set plans, flag / resolve misalignment, identify trade-offs when necessary and ensure a quality deliverable is made on time.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record working as part of / with software development and test teams. Previous experience as a developer, tester and/or Software Program Manager. Key skills include strong communication, cross-functional collaboration, attention to detail and willingness to dive in, ability to extrapolate, ability to juggle many tasks at any point in time without dropping any one of them. The successful candidate will be one who provides great value to the software teams while ensuring their successful alignment with the broader company.
What Your Day-To-Day Will Involve:
- Drive cross-functional alignment across software developers, testers, regulatory, marketing and other teams. You will do this by extreme communication and having a clear eye on the prize – shipping software into production. Keep people focused, identify and knock down blockers, ensure alignment, propose trade-offs.
- Keep multiple independent and dependent projects on track, ensuring priorities are clearly set and next steps are clearly communicated.
- Use your technical, clinical and/or product knowledge to pressure-test proposals, requirements, and specifications, acting as a critical reviewer. Work with various teams to define requirements.
- Identify and manage project and technical risks, dependencies and mitigation strategies.
- Ensure design controls & quality processes are followed and appropriate documentation is available at the right time. Proactively create and/or drive documentation ahead of deadlines.
- Organize & lead meetings to accomplish the above, while communicating out to keep people aligned and on schedule.
- Actively seek out and propose ways to improve how PROCEPT works – ask “Why?” and “Why not?” whenever possible.
The Qualifications We Need You to Possess
- Proven experience managing software processes & deliverables, including structured Software Device Lifecycles (SDLCs) and Secure Software Development Lifecycles (SSDLs). Familiarity with Agile and its application in a regulated environment. Experience as a scrum master beneficial. Comfortable working with developers and testers to break down work into domain-specific areas and track it in depth, while providing value-add to team activities.
- Extensive collaboration, communication & organizational skills across extended teams. Experience preparing and giving executive summaries / reports
- Familiarity/experience working in a regulated domain. Prefer experience in medical device industry including familiarity with IEC 62304, ISO 13485, FDA device regulations & QSR, MD-SAP, IEC 81001-5-1.
- Ability to move quickly in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing conditions and create clarity out of chaos.

- 5+ years as a software program manager / TPM or similar experience

For this role, the anticipated base pay range is $160,000-175,000 per year.
Plus, eligibility for an annual bonus and equity/RSUs.

PAY RANGE TRANSPARENCY
Procept is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Procept utilizes the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
We’ll provide you training for, and ask you to maintain trained status for, and comply with, all relevant aspects of the PROCEPT BioRobotics Quality Management System to ensure product and support regulatory compliance. We would also ask you to understand and adhere to the PROCEPT BioRobotics Quality & EHS policies.
What We Do
PROCEPT BioRobotics is a commercial-stage surgical robotics company focused on advancing patient care by developing transformative solutions in urology. We develop, manufacture and sell the AQUABEAM Robotic System, an advanced, image-guided, surgical robotic system for use in minimally-invasive urologic surgery with an initial focus on treating benign prostatic hyperplasia, or BPH. Our proprietary AQUABEAM Robotic System delivers Aquablation therapy, which combines real-time, multidimensional imaging, personalized treatment planning, automated robotics and heat-free waterjet ablation for targeted and rapid removal of prostate tissue. Aquablation therapy delivers effective, safe and durable outcomes for males suffering from lower urinary tract symptoms, or LUTS, due to BPH that are independent of prostate size and shape or surgeon experience.
