We seek a skilled product owner to manage our BSS/OSS platform, ensuring it meets its business needs and adapts to its growth.
The Software Product Owner will be the key liaison between IT and the business. It will understand business needs, gather requirements, and ensure the BSS/OSS platform delivers value through continuous enhancements and platform support. This role collaborates closely with the business teams to ensure smooth platform operation and innovation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Collaboration & Requirement Gathering: 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, developing and maintaining platform

  • Engage with business stakeholders to capture, clarify, and document requirements for the BSS /OSS platform, including billing, customer management, and operational processes. 

  • Host regular requirement-gathering sessions to ensure platform enhancements align with strategic goals and business operations. 

  • Translate business needs into actionable user stories and technical specifications for the development team. 

Product Backlog Management & Prioritization: 

  • Own and manage the product backlog specific to the business needs, ensuring alignment with priorities, customer expectations, and technical considerations. 

  • Prioritize platform enhancements, new features, and support tasks based on business value, operational impact, and ROI. 

  • Regularly review and refine the backlog to ensure it accurately reflects the business's evolving requirements and feedback. 

Platform Development & Delivery: 

  • Work closely with Compax Digitals’ development and engineering teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of features that support business operations. 

  • Act as the business advocate during sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, ensuring the development team understands business goals. 

  • Ensure all platform updates and new features are thoroughly tested, meet quality standards, and successfully deployed to the BSS production environment. 

Platform Support & Incident Management: 

  • Collaborate with operational and support teams to ensure the stability, availability, and performance of the BSS platform. 

  • Oversee the resolution of platform support issues, coordinating with technical support teams to troubleshoot and resolve incidents quickly. 

  • Serve as the escalation point for critical platform issues affecting the business, providing updates and ensuring timely resolution. 

  • Maintain clear communication with business teams regarding platform updates, issues, and resolutions. 

Enhancements & Continuous Improvement: 

  • Gather and analyze feedback from the business teams and end-users to drive continuous improvement of the BSS platform. 

  • Identify and propose new features, functionalities, and platform optimizations that add value to the business and improve operational efficiency. 

  • Ensure enhancements align with short-term needs and long-term business strategy. 

Sprint Planning & Agile Product Management: 

  • Lead sprint planning and backlog grooming sessions, ensuring that the highest priorities are addressed in each sprint. 

  • Participate in daily stand-ups to communicate clearly between Compax Digitals and the business. 

  • Ensure all new development is well-documented and the business is trained and informed on platform changes. 

Market Awareness & Industry Best Practices: 

  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies related to BSS and telecommunications to keep the business competitive. 

  • Proactively propose enhancements and innovations to ensure the BSS platform stays aligned with best practices in the telecommunications industry. 

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Business, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role, preferably with a focus on BSS, cloud platforms, or telecommunications.

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:

  • In-depth understanding of cloud-based BSS platforms, particularly billing, CRM, and order management. 

  • Strong ability to gather business requirements, define user stories, and translate them into technical specifications. 

  • Experience working in an Agile environment, with hands-on experience managing product backlogs, leading sprint planning, and overseeing sprint delivery. 

  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging technical and business stakeholders effectively. 

  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on delivering customer-centric solutions.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Remain stationary for extended periods

  • Ability to communicate information

  • Ability to operate a computer

  • 25% travel requirement
