Software Engineer/Full-StackEngineer

FocusKPI is looking for a Software Engineer or Full stack Engineer or Backend Engineer to join the one of our clients, a high-tech, SaaS company. 
As a Product/Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining AI-powered software applications. You will work closely with cross-engineering teams, product managers, data scientists, and ML engineers, to build robust and scalable solutions that deliver exceptional value to their clients. In this role, you will have the opportunity to design and implement large scale distributed systems with a focus on reliability and performance. This is a 0→1 environment and the client is trying to define the next generation of AI products.
Connectors Platform is the underlying foundation for integrating and connecting hundreds of third party apps with the client’s newer generation of AI-powered products. They are building a data ingestion platform that can handle and process large volumes of data with reliability, security and scalability in mind. This platform team has 3 focus areas:

1. Building the foundational components and infrastructure to enable building connectors faster;
2. Increasing connectors breadth
3. Enabling enterprise needs

Work Location: Remote - anywhere in the US
Duration: 12 months contract 
Pay Range: $60/hr to $67/hr

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with product managers and other engineering teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for AI-powered software applications.
• Design algorithms to optimize data ingestion, handle third party rate limits, sync throughput and performance.
• Work together with a high performing team to implement platform capabilities to build third party integrations faster. 
• Drive improvements in key metrics such as sync success rate, sync throughput, data completeness and data freshness.
• Enable enterprises to build their own custom connectors using their indexing APIs and custom connector capabilities.
• Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing sessions, and provide mentorship to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented culture.

Basic Qualifications:

• 8 years experience as a backend engineer or a full stack engineer
• BA/BS in computer science, or related degree
• Strong proficiency in backend/frontend development technologies such as Golang and Python (Strong coding experience with Golang and python required), and popular frontend frameworks like React (nice to have)
• Experience building large distributed systems at scale
• Strong interpersonal skills to lead your projects cross-functionally
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate user requirements into practical frontend solutions
• Leading a sub team of intermediate to junior engineers and providing them with technical direction on complex projects
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross- functional teams and present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with building third party app integrations
• Excited about building 0→1. Comfortable with ambiguity and pivoting in direction
• Not satisfied with status quo. Great at finding problems and addressing them proactively
