About the role:
The Software Engineer develops and maintains business-critical software applications to maximize the organization's ability to connect consumers with the right insurance products through technology-driven solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance our technology stack and directly impacting our mission to improve access to healthcare in America. You will report to a Lead Engineer.
What you will do
- Build, maintain, and operate secure web-based software solutions, including both back-end and front-end components, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, efficient software solutions.
- Ensure code quality through code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly.
- Continuously improve the codebase for better performance, scalability, and security.
- Stay updated with industry trends and adopt the best tools and techniques.
What we are looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in software development.
- Proficiency in Java (ideally with Spring Boot)
- Practical knowledge of web-based application development.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Couchbase).
- Proven ability to work in an agile environment and adapt to changing requirements.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working within a self-organized team.
- Eagerness to learn new technologies and improve existing skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and serverless computing.
- Knowledge of event-driven architecture using Kafka or other messaging systems
- Experience with TypeScript and React/Angular.
- Knowledge of Terraform, Docker, AWS/ECS deployments, Jenkins, or other CI/CD tools.
- Familiarity with Gauge, Selenium/Selenide
- Experience with Git
Location: Hybrid/On-site
Pay Range: $110,000 - $130,000
The salary range for this position reflects an expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on careful consideration of additional factors such as (but not limited to): location, relevant experience/level and skillset, education and training, internal equity as well as the scope and responsibilities of the position and market considerations.
