About the role:
As a Software Engineer you will work with a number of different technologies as you build innovative fintech products that change the way the world pays, banks and invests. This will involve developing core versions of software applications, identifying client requirements and technical specifications, interacting with engineering groups and training clients on applications.
About the team:
FIS® Securities Finance Processor (formerly Global One) is an integrated solution for international securities financing, covering the full trade life cycle of principal and agency securities lending and repo transactions, and can also help you reduce risk.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain UniData-based applications and systems.

• Collaborate with cross-functional Agile sprint teams to gather and analyse requirements.

• Develop and implement software solutions to meet business needs.

• Identifies client requirements, both technical and business, through Product Management and/or client representatives.

• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.

• Develop code, test our peer’s development, and write unit tests.

• Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to best practices.

• Refactor code where necessary - for best performance and procedures - be risk aware, and pair-up where necessary.

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.

• Maintain a common sprint team goal and promote a 'can-do' attitude.

• Bring development experience and able to consult with the Development Director and the Senior Developers on technical issues.

• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies and methodologies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in UniData and System Builder development.

• Experience with Securities Finance or Financial Services Industry is highly desirable.

• Knowledge of database design and data modelling.

• Familiarity with version control systems.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Added bonus if you have:

• Some knowledge of Java, Spring Framework, REST API’s and SQL.

• Knowledge of Integration Frameworks/Patterns (Apache Camel).

• Knowledge of Securities Financing.

• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

• Experience with Linux and/or Windows environments.
