About the team

The Worldpay Alternative Payments Department specialise in delivering online payment services to our customers and are looking for Leading Engineers to join our Team and take it to the next level.

Operating within a collaborative SAFe environment, we aim to deliver effective solutions to the business and our customers from our growing Treasury platform.

We are looking for proactive Team players who would like to work in the fast-paced Fintech sector with likeminded individuals, developing robust and scalable applications for the growing market.

What you’ll own

• Working within an Agile Development Team to deliver features for the system

• Collaborating with Solution Architects to assist in developing effective scalable solutions for the platform

• Produce well structured, maintainable, reliable and fit for purpose code and unit tests of the highest quality following SOLID principles

• Produce system requirements and estimates from business requirements

• Proactively identifying and suggesting improvements and enhancements to working practices

• Demonstrate a can-do attitude and a sense of responsibility for the wider implications of software engineering across the entire department

• Demonstrate a flexible approach necessary for the role as business requirements and their relative priorities are subject to review and change

• Share good practices in agile software development

• Identify and proactively deal with impediments

• Assist QA Engineers, fellow Software Engineers and Support Teams as required

• Development of new applications, analyses of current applications and processes, and making recommendations

What you bring

• Degree level education (in related subject of computing, maths, science) or equivalent

• Good communication skills

• Experience in Enterprise level software development

• Knowledge/practical application of agile methodologies

• Track record in delivering work to schedule and to specification

• Excellent object-oriented development skills

• Experience of database design on Enterprise scale database systems

• Experience in application security

• Knowledge of infrastructure

• Capable of green-field development

• Conceive of new, well-built applications and processes to fulfil business needs

• C#

• Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL

• .NET Framework, .Net Core, Web applications, Web APIs, Web Services, Windows Services

Added Bonus if you have:

• Experience of working on highly performant 24/7 systems

• Financial Services experience

• Online payment processing experience

• Knowledge of SSL/SSH/Secure communications

• Virtualisation & server management

• Knowledge of Enterprise Design

• Works with colleagues in different departments seamlessly

• Understanding of Enterprise-level design

• Familiarity with how independent systems interact with each other

• Brings something special or new to FIS that we need or could make use of

• Demonstrate positive contribution to the success of a large development group

• Examples of adding value beyond the confines of a small team

• Can and will present knowledge-sharing sessions to large groups of people

• Platform-level Designer

• Understands how elements of a platform interact; can help plan and improve performance, security and resilience

• Understands Service Management, Platform maintenance and Disaster Recovery
