The Team:

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join the Self-Managed Cloud team who create sthe software infrastructure customers require to install and run Neo4j in their own managed public cloud on AWS, Azure, GCP, etc . In your daily work, you will be creating the best deployment and management experience for Neo4j to run on Kubernetes through self-service Cloud Marketplaces. Our solutions are used by some of the worlds' largest enterprise businesses. 

We are looking for a code-centric candidate with a background in infrastructure-as-code and an interest in systems and container technologies; you might have worked as a DevOps engineer with a strong interest in software development, Golang is the primary language in this team.

This role requires work across a wide range of different technologies and programming languages. You should be comfortable working with this variety, disciplined about choosing the right technology for each situation, and interested in learning unfamiliar technologies. Due to the close collaboration with our core database engineering teams, this role provides the opportunity to build your knowledge of low-level systems programming and database design.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and maintain Helm Charts.
  • Package Helm charts and publish them to repositories.
  • Develop and update GO-based test suites to verify the functionality and reliability of Helm charts and Kubernetes configurations.
  • Integrate tests into the CI/CD pipeline to ensure that changes are validated before deployment.
  • Design, implement, and maintain GitHub Actions workflows to automate build, test, and release processes.
  • Implement security best practices such as managing secrets, enforcing access controls, and scanning for vulnerabilities.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for Helm charts, CI/CD pipelines, testing procedures, and infrastructure configurations.
  • Create and maintain templates for AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager (ARM), and Google Cloud Deployment Manager to deploy the product on each cloud platform.
  • Run regular tests to validate the templates across all supported platforms, ensuring that deployments are successful and free from errors.
  • Submit the product for publication to AWS, Azure, and GCP marketplaces, adhering to the specific requirements for each platform.

What You'll Need:

  • Must have experience with container and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm). In addition, any experience in the following areas is also very welcome:
  • Cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP, OpenShift) 
  • Operating / maintain databases in the cloud, bonus for Neo4j experience
  • Infrastructure as a code
  • Programming and scripting in multiple languages (Golang, Python, Bash)
  • Continuous integration (we use TeamCity and Github Actions)
  • Version control systems (Git)
  • Configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible)
  • Automated testing
