About you
We are looking for enthusiastic candidates with an education background in computer science or related STEM disciplines who are passionate about the latest technologies for developing scalable and user-friendly web products. If you are a self-starter and someone who is excited to join us and learn how we build our platforms and features, we are interested in talking to you!
About this role
Engineering teams at Udemy build & manage several microservices that power the Udemy B2B and D2C products. As an intern, you will help enhance, scale, and design backend services while contributing to the transition from a monolithic to a distributed service architecture.
What you'll be doing:

Learn our technology stack and development processes.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and design new features in an agile environment.

Design, specify, and implement new features and services.

Review code to ensure quality, security, and performance.

Document, monitor, and maintain new features post-release.
Ideal candidate will have

Education in computer science, mathematics or other related analytical (i.e. STEM) disciplines.

Experience with modern programming languages, such as Java, Python, C#.

Knowledge of developing distributed web applications, including cloud-based architectures.

Design and architecture knowledge, as well as familiarity with object-oriented design patterns.
