Ravenswood is the home to our headquarters in Chicago, Illinois. We take pride in having a friendly, open office life that is relaxed and honest. We truly want you to come to work as your whole self. As a flexible-first organization, this role requires the Engineer to be onsite at the office two-three days a week.
What you'd be doing in this role
Your expertise as a Level 2 Support Engineer will be instrumental in creating and maintaining a high-performing, reliable environment for our clients. You'll take a leading role in identifying and resolving issues, enhancing system performance, and delivering solutions that empower our clients to command their data with confidence. Your proactive approach will help us stay ahead of potential challenges, ensuring every aspect of our platform operates seamlessly.
Collaboration is at the core of this role. You'll work hand-in-hand with our Engineering and Product teams to fine-tune and optimize our platform, making improvements that directly impact our clients' success. By embedding yourself with motivated development teams, you'll plan and execute solutions that deliver real value while fostering innovation and efficiency.
As a trusted problem solver, you'll be the go-to expert for addressing operational challenges and implementing solutions that enhance system scalability, reliability, and performance. Your focus on continuous improvement will help shape our tools and workflows, empowering both our teams and our clients.

The impact you'll make
- System Support and Maintenance: Actively monitor and maintain system health, ensuring high availability and performance. Address and resolve system issues promptly to minimize impact on client operations.
- Bug Fixes: Prioritize and execute bug fixes efficiently, employing a systematic approach to identify, diagnose, and resolve issues. Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration of fixes.
- Continuous Improvement: Leverage insights gained from support activities to suggest system enhancements. Implement improvements to processes, tools, and technologies to increase efficiency, reliability, and client satisfaction.
- Client Self-Service Tools: Develop and refine tools that empower clients to resolve issues independently, reducing dependency on direct support and enhancing user experience.
- Collaborative Problem-Solving: Work closely with development and support teams to tackle complex challenges, sharing knowledge and best practices to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Innovation: Seek ways to push and improve Nextpoint development processes, introducing new methods +/- technologies
Your expertise
- You bring a Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field that's helped you build a strong foundation in engineering and problem-solving.
- You have two or more years of experience in support engineering.
- You're self-driven and take pride in owning your work, always pushing to deliver the best outcomes for the team and our users.
- You have a natural drive for automation, looking for ways to make processes more efficient and systems more resilient.
- You communicate well with others, working iteratively to interpret and execute diverse project requirements.
- You are a self starter who takes great pride in your work and your own continued learning.
- You have ideas and the confidence to contribute.
- You have the ability to conceive of an idea and carry it all the way through to implementation.
- You have strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on troubleshooting and identifying root causes of complex issues and are not afraid to handle time-critical tasks.
- You go the extra mile to assist and improve both the systems you support and the co-workers you build them with.
- You are a keen observer who can translate observations into actionable improvements to systems and processes.
- You are comfortable handling a mix of development, support, and maintenance tasks, adapting to the needs of the team and clients.
- You demonstrate excellent communication skills to effectively convey technical issues and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. A real team player who values collaboration, mentorship, and knowledge sharing.
