About the Role
The Software Developer MES, Java is working within the Digital Automotive Manufacturing team, interacting with the global IT and Business teams.
The primary scope is to develop sustainable, robust and secure software solutions on an enterprise level within the global MES solution portfolio under consideration of business- and customer requirements, as well as the DigITal strategy. Supporting major incidents and daily operations from a 3rd level perspective.
What You Will Do
- Learn our approach of manufacturing and obtain our philosophy and mindset.
- Develop sustainable, robust and secure JAVA applications software under consideration of business and customer requirements.
- Interact with the IT and manufacturing teams to analyze requirements and create concepts in alignment with the DigITal strategy, high performance, economic aspects and usability, especially related to production shopfloor.
- Support already existing solutions developed in JAVA
- Bring in new ideas, concepts and technology for optimizing software solutions.
- Be an interface between Business and DigITal, communicate to internal as well as customer (Automotive OEM) stakeholders.
- Review project requests describing user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish the project.
- Conduct internal and business testing sessions, review solutions, ensure software quality and be the responsible person for the deliverable.
- Maintain software and provide customer (internal) support on the 3rd level.
What You Need
- A Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience (more than 4 years) in developing and handling software on an enterprise level, global and critical system as part of a team.
- Demonstrated experience (more than 4 years) in JAVA (J2EE) development. Good understanding of JUnit, WebServices, Rest, RMI, JMS and JDBC
- Experience using Eclipse
- Experience in Database concepts and technology
- Understanding the fundaments of cryptography concepts
- Proven ability and persistence to systematically analyze and resolve complex problems
- Good communication skills in English
- Ability to work in a global team
What is Nice to Have
- Knowledge of IT Infrastructure and High Availability concepts in an Enterprise Environment
- Experience in software development using SAP NetWeaver application server.
- Capabilities in handling, administrating and debugging of enterprise application system landscapes
- Knowledge in manufacturing processes and related systems
- Knowledge in Industry 4.0 and factory automation related topics
- Understanding of manufacturing process analysis, design and implementation within the MES landscape, especially under consideration of SAP ME standards
- Be familiar with Test Automation, TDD, CI/CD
- Solid experience with at least one major Unix distribution
What Makes You Eligible
- Be willing to travel up to 10%, domestic and international travel
- Be willing to work in an office in Laem Chabang, Thailand
- Successfully complete a background investigation as a condition of employment
