Introduction to role
Vanderlande is a global market leader in material handling systems. Working within projects, the Site Supervisor will be responsible for the supervision and delivery of M&E installation activities and equipment in line with the programme schedule operating within the VI site supervisory structure across the UK portfolio where travel and flexibility will be required to support successful execution.
Role Responsibilities
The Site Supervisor will be responsible for the installation, assembly, dismantling, maintenance, troubleshooting and commissioning activities. Successfully supervising and providing guidance for on-site installation at the point of work, for processes of complex equipment, and systems with minimal direct supervision. You will possess the ability to follow detailed work instructions and where necessary make changes utilising correct procedures with support from the wider project teams such as engineering, R&D or supply chain. You will make improvements to support Vanderlande’s continuous improvement strategy through adaptation and updating of manuals and documentation to support efficient and effective installation deliveries, proactive engagement with the supply chain to support the logistics lifecycle.
Reporting on progress of planned against actual work and proactively seeking countermeasures to be identified to the Site Manager, coordinating with all interfacing subcontractors and stakeholders. Proactively driving a Stay Safe culture and ensuring the project teams and subcontractors understand and implement good safety practice during the execution of site delivery phases and work activities of the project.
Your responsibilities and activities will include:

- Leadership and supervision of the installation teams to achieve successful delivery of M&E equipment through proven technical ability including safety and quality leadership. Acting autonomously championing the required behaviours against a strategic vision of zero incidents and right first-time delivery
- Supporting logistics planning to facilitate the installation of activities for timely execution to complement the project schedule.
- Acting as a safety ambassador through leadership and ownership ensuring promotion of a positive safety culture
- Responsible for liaison with subcontractors and stakeholders to achieve a productive and positive working environment.

- Focal point for driving snagging resolution to a satisfactory outcome, supporting the preparation for CE/UKCA marking assessment and handover activities.
- Possess a level of self-awareness with a drive and proactive approach to continuously improving own abilities targeting essential skills.
- Ownership of activities providing a pivotal role in the local resolution method. Reporting upwards to senior site supervisor/site manager on progress in relation to expected targets.

- Be empathetic whilst possessing the ability to be assertive and accomplish results through clear instruction, and guidance to achieve optimal output from the site supervision team and installation teams.
Role Qualification and Skills
- 3-5 Years experience in successful supervision of teams during delivery of large and complex projects.
- Successful proven implementation within all phases of a project.
- Awareness of mechanical and electrical installations.
- Awareness and good understanding of CDM Regulations and HASWA.
- Possess the ability to understand engineering drawings, specifications, layouts, and successfully interpret project and logistics schedules
- Ability to implement activities based on robust site planning to complement the master project schedule
- IT literate, capable of using MS Office and Outlook as a minimum
- Proven safety record through installation delivery within time critical and pressurised working environments
- Possess the ability to champion Vanderlande’s Stay Safe Culture and safe working ethos
- Be able to provide robust reports and drive progress whilst maintaining Vanderlande’s quality standards
Preferred Qualifications
- SSSTS Trained as a minimum
- ECS/JIB/CSCS Card
- IOSH Managing Safely as a minimum, NEBOSH General Certificate preferable
- First Aid At Work
- Engineering Degree or Equivalent NVQ
- 18th Edition
