As a flexible-first organization, this role requires the Site Reliability Engineer to be onsite at the office two-three days a week.

What you'd be doing in this role

Your expertise will be essential in creating and sustaining a reliable, high-performance environment for our users. You'll play a key role in building systems and infrastructure that keep our applications running smoothly, monitoring system health, and ensuring we're always a step ahead of user needs. Collaboration is at the heart of this role as you'll partner closely with our Development and Product teams to optimize every layer of our platform.
Your proactive approach will help us identify performance improvements and potential bottlenecks before they impact the user experience. As the go-to expert for operational reliability, you'll support large-scale, distributed applications, taking ownership of availability, scalability, and efficiency. While your primary focus will be on engineering reliability solutions, you'll also approach our platform from a user's perspective, ensuring their experience is seamless and dependable.
This role is a great fit if you're passionate about automation, continuous improvement, and creating sustainable systems that set a high bar for performance. You'll have the chance to make an impact by developing self-service tools for the team, streamlining workflows, and driving reliability across all deployments.
The impact you'll make

  • Optimize System Health and Performance : You'll monitor production environments to ensure high availability and spot performance improvements proactively, keeping our systems running smoothly and meeting user needs.
  • Build and Scale Reliable Infrastructure : By developing and managing infrastructure solutions, you'll create a stable foundation that scales with our growth, supporting consistent and reliable performance across all applications.
  • Enable Continuous Delivery : You'll streamline CI/CD processes by building tools and automation that accelerate development and deployment, ensuring efficient, high-quality software releases.
  • Collaborate for Service Quality : Working closely with development teams, you'll enhance service quality through rigorous testing and structured release processes, improving the user experience.
  • Drive Sustainable Solutions : Through automation and self-service tools, you'll increase productivity, reduce manual work, and ensure long-term reliability, allowing teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.


Your expertise

  • You bring a Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field that's helped you build a strong foundation in engineering and problem-solving.
  • You're self-driven and take pride in owning your work, always pushing to deliver the best outcomes for the team and our users.
  • You have a natural drive for automation, looking for ways to make processes more efficient and systems more resilient.
  • With 5+ years of experience in engineering, architecting, or supporting AWS solutions, as well as supporting production web applications, you're comfortable navigating cloud environments. Extra points if you've worked with SaaS products!
  • Write robust scripts using Python and Unix Shell to streamline operational tasks.
  • Proficiency in scripting and task automation, especially Python, JSNO, YAML.
  • Previous experience with authentication using Siteminder (SSO) is a plus.
  • Hand-on experience with Ansible, Kubernetes, OpenShift Docker
  • Experience with Amazon AWS / Google Cloud/ Azure.
  • You're proactive in spotting areas for improvement and aren't afraid to dive into performance bottlenecks, making sure our systems run smoothly.
  • Legal software experience is a plus!
  • Experience building and operating enterprise cloud applications
  • Familiarity with security practices such as DevSecOps, and ensuring secure and compliant infrastructure as part of reliability engineering
  • Ability to lead technical decision-making, balancing reliability, performance, and cost
  • Ability to make challenging decisions under pressure
  • Ability to learn complex systems in order to identify and mitigate incidents
  • Ability to work well cross-functionally and navigate through ambiguity
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Leverage Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS to automate infrastructure and manage scalable cloud environments.
  • Implement API automation to provision and teardown infrastructure components across tech stacks.
  • Write robust scripts using Python and Unix Shell to streamline operational tasks.
