Key responsibilities (List major areas of position responsibilities)

  • Has full responsibility and accountability for all site operations including sales, stocks, forecourt staff, safety and controls
  • Leads, motivates, supervises and provides support to the service station in all daily service station operations.
  • Ensuring sales targets for all products (fuels, lubricants and Non-Fuel) are achieved and that all policies aimed at sales improvement and target realization are observed. Prospecting for new customers (door to door customer visits) and community engagement.
  • Monitors controls and reviews records of all cash, coupon and card sales and enforces cash drop limits as defined by the company.
  • Daily cash up and banking for the site.
  • Stock management - manages site stock and product quality during including product receipts, dips and stock losses.
  • Monitors, reports and supervises staff to ensure that staff is disciplined in the execution of their duties including but not limited to customer service, grooming, attendance, overtime and leave.
  • Controls all product losses to within allowable variances. Variances outside of allowable limits or that cannot be explained shall be for the Site Manager’s account
  • Compiles and submits accurate and complete reports on site performance and transactions including but not limited to sales, trade area/competitor analysis, stocks and banking.
  • Trains and coaches attendants in all aspects of site operations including but not limited to customer service, receiving product, service station safety and retail standards.
  • Engages with customers and maintains the highest level of customer service on the forecourt
  • Monitors and supervises individual and team performance to meet and fuel and lubes sales volume targets.
  • Maintains the highest level of housekeeping on the site by supervising daily, weekly and monthly housekeeping tasks.
  • Enforces and ensures compliance to Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) and company policies.
  • Promotes and enforces safe practices on the site in line with the Company’s Health Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Policy.
  • Monitors and benchmarks the site and shift volumes and pricing against competition in the trade area.
  • Manages and upholds the company’s reputation and image to the highest levels by executing all duties in an ethical and professional manner with the highest level of integrity.

Education and Experience

  • 5 years retail experience
  • Degree in any Commercial / Finance Qualification
  • At least 2 years supervising a team
  • Experience with managing customers
  • Knowledge of Retail online system
