Senior UX Designer
Shape the Future of Fintech UX at Stronghold
At Stronghold, we believe that exceptional design isn't just about aesthetics—it’s about solving complex problems with intuitive, user-centric solutions. We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer who thrives in ambiguity, obsesses over user experience, and can transform deep domain insights into innovative, frictionless designs.
This role is perfect for someone who loves tackling intricate design challenges, has an analytical approach to UX, and is passionate about creating beautiful, highly functional products.
What You’ll Do
🔍 Master the Domain – Our space is complex, and we need someone who isn’t afraid to dig in. You’ll immerse yourself in domain knowledge, decoding industry nuances and user needs to design with precision.
🎯 Champion the User – You’ll conduct research, uncover pain points, and translate insights into designs that feel second nature to our users. You’ll also navigate the art of extracting true needs without getting misled by surface-level feedback.
📐 Design & Prototype Like a Pro – From quick low-fidelity wireframes to polished high-fidelity prototypes, you’ll iterate rapidly and validate solutions with real users. Your work will bridge vision and execution seamlessly.
🤝 Collaborate Across Teams – Partner with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to bring your designs to life in an agile, feedback-rich environment.
🚀 Lead with Impact – As a senior team member, you’ll mentor junior designers, advocate for best practices, and push the boundaries of what great UX can be.
What You Bring
✅ Deep UX Expertise – A strong portfolio that demonstrates your ability to solve real user problems through thoughtful design.
✅ Fluency in Design Tools – You’re highly proficient in Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar tools and know when to use the right one for the job.
✅ Analytical Mindset – You don’t just make things look good—you make them work beautifully by synthesizing user research, data, and feedback into actionable improvements.
✅ Communication & Collaboration – You can clearly articulate design decisions, balance stakeholder input, and build alignment across teams.
✅ Resilience & Maturity – You welcome critique, embrace iteration, and aren’t afraid to push back when it serves the user experience.
Responsibilities:
Deep Domain Understanding: Our domain is challenging, especially for outsiders. The ideal candidate will be willing to roll up their sleeves and dive deep into the domain literature and resources we have ready for you. At many thousands of pages of material, you should enjoy reading, writing, and critical thinking as well as design.
User-Centric Design: Conduct user research to understand needs, behaviors, and pain points, translating these insights into user-friendly designs. You must understand how to elicit needs while not being hoodwinked by users conflating solutions.
Wireframing and Prototyping: Create detailed wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to propose and iterate on design solutions. You should start with fast, low fidelity wireframes before moving to mockups.
Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure design vision is effectively translated into product implementation.
Guidance and Leadership: Lead design projects and provide guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of creativity and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven Experience: Extensive experience in product design with a portfolio showcasing your expertise in creating user-centric solutions.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, or similar.
Analytical Mindset: Strong ability to analyze user feedback and activity, and incorporate this into design improvements.
Communication: Excellent communication skills to articulate design concepts and rationales.
Maturity: Must be willing and able to take constructive criticism from multiple parties, including passionate users and leaders, and integrate findings into your designs.
Education: A degree in Design, UX/UI, or a related field is preferred, but not mandatory with relevant experience.
