Job Description

IFS Ultimo, an IFS company based in the Netherlands with more than 2000 global customers, is a leading Enterprise Asset Management software provider with a strong reputation for the completeness, flexibility, and configurability of its SaaS EAM solutions.
In the world of Ultimo, asset management processes and the software they require take center stage. At IFS Ultimo we develop easy-to-use EAM software for confident asset owners, enabling them to optimize productivity, maximize asset availability, and secure health and safety. We supply out-of-the-box, though supremely flexible software with an unmatched ROI through short implementations, seamless integrations, and self-service application management.

The Ultimo application consists of various services developed in C#. Together, these make up the back end. The front end is written in JavaScript. Here, we use a proprietary web framework. The current generation of the application runs on Azure Kubernetes. We use various cloud-native techniques to offer a stable and scalable platform. Customers on our Azure platform are automatically provided with fixes and new features bi-weekly.

We set high-quality standards for the work delivered and have high coverage with various types of automated testing. We work with .NET 8 (C#), Xamarin/MAUI, Azure, Kubernetes, Azure SQL, and JavaScript.

The UX Designer creates a user-friendly, attractive and modern user experience in the Ultimo software, based on rough ideas and requirements. Analyses and optimises the interactions between user and the developed modules and components, in which the user’s experience is leading. Work is conducted closely with the product managers, product owners and development teams to gather and evaluate all the requirements.

The person we seek is capable of:

• Drawing up proposals in mock-ups, prototypes and/or wireframes
• Developing and presenting the created proposals
• Designing/redesigning interactions in processes
• Analysing user experiences by using the right resources (including mock-ups, prototypes, scenarios, storyboards, interviews, etc.)
• Substantiating and coordinating the designs in the Scrum team
• Monitoring the consistency of the user interface
• Focusing on the needs, wishes and demands of the users
• Setting up and performing user experience tests

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in or comparable to Web and Interaction Design, Communication and Multimedia Design, Design for Interaction, Digital Communication, Human Media Design, Interactive Media Design, etc.
• Command of spoken and written English
• At least 4 years of experience with usability and interaction design
• Experience with setting up and conducting user research
• Experience with UX tooling, e.g. Figma
• Experience of agile development methodologies, EAM domain and business application knowledge preferable
• High degree of curiosity and critical thinking.
• Highly adaptable to changing circumstances because you will be one of the first members of the IFS Ultimo Team in Sri Lanka, there is still a lot to discover!
