The Battle.net & Online Products (B&OP) organization is home to 300+ engineers, product managers, and designers focused on the technology that powers Blizzard Entertainment’s games. Whether you’re playing one of our titles, chatting with friends, or just shopping online, B&OP ensures that our players are immersed in engaging, exciting, and secure experiences. B&OP is responsible for several platform products that are shared among all of Blizzard’s games.
We are looking for a passionate and skilled Senior Technical Project Manager to join the Platform Integrations Partner Success team within B&OP to support our Partnerships in China.
In this role you will be responsible for driving the success around intake request, product strategy, project execution, and live operations support of first- and second-party integrations; serve as the main contact and conduit team for product, engineering, design and commercial teams regarding project prioritization and status; establish and build strong relationships between partner teams; drive key strategic initiatives from initiation to launch across B&OP and dependent teams; and act as a champion for continuous improvement while working to maximize the efficiency, predictability, and visibility of our projects. Equally important is for you to have a strong passion for video games or to be highly familiar with the gaming community and industry.
The ideal candidate will have technical experience partnering with multiple product development teams through all aspects of the product lifecycle including planning, implementation, testing, release, and operations. In addition, it is necessary to have a strong understanding of the product domain and have the technical ability and understanding of products across their lifecycle. Also, you can help foster and create an environment that adapts quickly to change.
The potential home studio for this role is Irvine, CA. Remote work is a possibility but the ideal candidate will live in a western US location that is better aligned with Chinese work hours.
This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The home studio for this role is Irvine, CA.
Responsibilities:

Primary POC for our Chinese partners: Establish and build strong relationships and clear communication lines with our Chinese partner teams.

Technical Ambassador for the Platform: Drives, develops and maintains a strong understanding of Battle.net features, capabilities, current integration points, and best practices to provide strong proactive guidance to technical personnel responsible for integration. This person is going to need to be able to empathize with teams implementing our tech across the entire gaming hardware landscape (PC, Mac, PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, iOS, Android space).

Collaborate on Product Strategy: Understands and facilitates the use of MVPs, financial metrics, ROI, revenue potential and opportunities across the B&OP products and services to determine priorities and impact. Utilizes industry expertise to generate ideas for new products or services. Remains up to date on research, market environment, industry trends, and technologies relating to the product. Looks for ways to increase the profitability of efficiency of existing products. Reviews and utilizes metrics reporting for fact-based decision making.

Creates Connections: Develops and maintains strong relationships (providing indirect leadership) with partners by serving as the principal day-to-day point of contact for all things related to the successful technical implementation. Liaises with Production, Product, and Commerical on Game Product Teams to facilitate communication and understand Business Priorities for the Franchise. Facilitates between Game Product Team and B&OP to determine high level requirements for projects and report back on status.

Manages Complexity: Provides regular communication (cross and intradepartmental, internal/external, and cross-hierarchy) to ensure transparency and progress of projects. Cuts through the ambiguity to identify the core issues (both procedurally and technically). Follow change management process to capture change requests, communicate impact, request stakeholder decisions, and execute changes, if applicable

Accelerates the Process: Communicates dates, capacity, metrics/results, and prioritization to make sure we are executing high profile deliverables. Negotiates agreements that meet critical development and launch deadlines while maintaining positive relationships. Focuses on delivery while keeping a vision to create a repeatable process. Lead and drive to be as functional and efficient as possible

Requirements

Proven experience managing end-to-end releases of a well-known software product

Detailed knowledge of software lifecycle; software development best practices; project management methodologies and release management methodologies

Self-driven, with the ability to deliver on ambiguous projects with incomplete data

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $92,920.00 - $171,814.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed. While we strive to provide competitive offers to successful candidates, new hire compensation is negotiable.
