As a Manager of Data Platform Ops Engineers, you will drive automation initiatives, strategic planning, and the discovery of new features to ensure our data platform is continuously optimized for ZoomInfo’s growth. In collaboration with the Data Platform Infrastructure, you’ll help shape the operational roadmap and lead efforts to scale and automate our platform.
What Will You Actually Be Doing?
- Design and implement automation strategies to enhance data platform efficiency, with a focus on stability, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
- Collaborate with Data Platform Infrastructure and Data Engineering teams to identify feature gaps, evaluate new technologies, and prioritize enhancements for the platform.
- Proactively monitor systems to identify opportunities for automation and reliability improvements, using scripting and orchestration tools like Python, Terraform, and Jenkins.
- Support roadmap planning by analyzing platform performance metrics, feature usage, and team feedback to ensure ongoing alignment with organizational goals.
- Participate in research and proof-of-concept activities for new tools and technologies that enhance platform performance and meet evolving data needs.
- Document automation workflows, feature improvements, and troubleshooting procedures to ensure streamlined platform operations.
Requirements
- Engineering Bachelor degree or other equivalent Engineering background.
- 2+ years of managing as a Manager/ TL.
- 7+ years of hands-on cloud based systems data experience (preferably snowflake).
- Experience in Data Platform Components: Proven track record in designing, implementing, and managing components of a data platform.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python: Skilled in SQL and Python programming to support automation and monitoring tasks.
- Expertise in Cloud and Orchestration Tools: Hands-on experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP), orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow), and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) technologies (e.g., Terraform).
- Problem-Solving and Feature Advocacy: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to drive new feature adoption and advocate for platform enhancements.
- Effective Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate across functions on roadmap initiatives, feature discovery, and process improvement.
