Senior Software Engineer

As an integral member of an end-customer facing Reports and Analytics, you will be responsible for designing and developing data models, ETL pipelines and BI solutions to meet product requirements, design of product functions, troubleshooting and resolving product defects, unit and integration testing. Active interaction with internal customers, other developers, Quality Assurance, Business System Analysts, Product Owners is an integral part of the role.
About the Role
In this opportunity as a Senior Software Engineer , you will
- Integrate applications per specification and translate technical requirements into application code and modules
- Approach development work with a DevOps and continuous integration mindset.
- Ensure consistency with cloud architectural guiding principles for assigned projects
- Develop prototype or "proof of concept" implementations of projects where the technical solution is unknown or unproven
- Assist in identifying and correcting software performance bottlenecks
- Be collaborative: Work in a highly collaborative and dynamic agile team environment with multiple levels of technology staff across various geographical locations
About You
You’re a fit for the role of Senior Software Engineer if your background includes
- Bachelor’s in computer science or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of prior hands-on experience in developing production ready ETL pipelines delivering data into a data warehouse or an operational data store.
- 5+ years of hands-on experienced in one or more relational databases such as Oracle, DB2, Teradata, Netezza, Redshift.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in programming in at least one language such as Python, Java, C, C#.
- Strong understanding of data models and SQL.
- Strong aptitude in translating business requirements into robust code including but not limited to addressing exception handling, performance optimizations to meet customer SLA or SLO.
- Proven strong analytical design, problem solving and trouble-shooting skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in developing a data migration or integration solution in a cloud solution such as GCP or AWS (using Data Proc, BigQuery, Pyspark or similar technologies)
- Good in knowledge of Linux and shell scripting.
- Strong understanding or experience in configuration of ETL schedule in orchestrations tools such as Airflow, Control M, AWS step functions or similar.
- Experience in designing and optimizing ETL code to process high volume of data will be good to have.
- Experience in report development on tools such as Jaspersoft, Tableau, PowerBI, and willingness to work on development will give you an edge.
