About Us

You'll join a Team consisting of highly experienced Linux system programming engineers with different focus, covering most of the Linux system. Together with them, you will:

- Collaborate with other engineers and architects across the entire engineering organisation including Quality Engineering and Support to ensure that all software works smoothly on SUSE supported platforms.
-   Collaborate and participate in the upstream communities of the projects you are working on.
-   Participate in technical design and code review processes.
-   Contribute to existing documentation and/or educational content based on product requirements and user feedback.
-   Contribute to maintaining a positive, healthy and inclusive learning culture.
-   Manage and expand relationships with internal and external partners and customers to fulfil all technical requirements and the user experience.
-   Review and evaluate product and solution designs and production activities for potential quality issues; provide tangible feedback based on results and root-cause analysis and designs and implement solutions to improve product quality and mitigate risk of failures.

What you’ll bring:
SUSE looks for passionate engineers who are motivated to make an impact for their team and our customers. The ideal candidate will have past experience working as a Software Engineer in the domain of Linux system programming with a focus on networking. Including debugging, fixing and enhancing of network configuration tools, network services and other system tools.
  In addition you bring:
 - Rock solid Experience in programming C on Linux
 - At least one common scripting Language
 - Practical knowledge on debugging technigues
 - In detail knowledge how to configure a linux OS, preferably openSUSE and/or SLES
 - Ability to identify and remove problems on all levels of the OS
 - Practical knowledge about RPM and Git
 - Practical usage  of the Open Build Service is a big plus

Personally, you like to work in a Team, be it your Team or any project oriented virtual Team.
 But, you're still able to work on and finish tasks on your own.
 You are able to take decisions on several levels. 

Education and Experience Required
 Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.

Typically 5-10 Years experience.
