Job Description
As a key member of the team, the Senior Revenue Accountant will perform various accounting and finance responsibilities related to revenue. This person will be hands on with all revenue-related accounting transactions and processes at ReliaQuest to ensure accurate reporting under US GAAP and adherence to all accounting policies and controls.
The everyday hustle:

Perform ongoing accounting functions related to recording and recognizing revenue

Prepare and analyze monthly revenue reports and provide explanations for significant variances and resolve accounting discrepancies

Partner with the Finance Team in forecasting revenue and cash inflows, including billings and collections

Assist in developing revenue recognition policies and procedures

Perform monthly close routines and assist with the management of the monthly close schedule

Prepare revenue related journal entries and support

Maintain various monthly balance sheet reconciliation schedules and perform periodic account audits

Compile documentation for the annual financial audits

Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and provide solutions for enhancement

Provide a high level of customer service and perform other duties as assigned
Do you have what it takes?

3-5 years’ experience in a corporate accounting & finance department or in a large public accounting firm

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred

Intellectual curiosity and the ability to think creatively

Basic understanding of revenue accounting principles and how to apply them

High level of organization, attention to detail and taking ownership

Support business processes by partnering with other departments, including Finance, Product, Sales, Marketing, Human Resources, and Legal

Effective written and spoken communication skills and the ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong MS Excel skills (pivot tables, look-ups, etc.); proficient in all MS Office suite core applications

Ability to deliver results with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment

Demonstrated proficiency in independently taking on projects and tasks and taking full ownership
