About the Role:
Hitachi Energy in Alamo, TN is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join its team. This position, under limited direction, will perform complex quality assurance assignments requiring diversified knowledge of engineering, manufacturing and quality assurance to cost effectively accomplish the organization's goals and objectives. This role will also proactively seek and implement initiatives to improve operations and increase customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure contract compliance by reviewing and approving quality requirements for supplier purchase orders, manufacturing, and other related services
- Collaborate with representatives from various functional groups assigned to the product or program including but not limited to design engineering, purchasing, production, manufacturing engineering, and inspection staff
- Collaborate with teams of engineers and product specialists to ensure customer and division quality requirements are met
- Review design, manufacturing, and testing documentation
- Facilitates planning and development of quality control systems for specified products or processes
- Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for large programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements
- Develops quality criteria to support supplier selection activities
- Counsel suppliers and customers, recommending changes as appropriate to improve quality and optimize their operations
- Leads various reviews/Kaizens to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs
- Develops and selects methods for analysis, testing and audit to ensure manufacturing and test readiness
- Assists in development of new standards repairs for non-conformances
- Develops and implements corrective actions
- Performs benchmarking and other forms of advanced analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved
- Evaluate new technologies and methods to make recommendations regarding their use
- Plan, assemble and present to senior management and customers, data on projects of a highly theoretical, complex operational nature, with related performance schedules, economic justification, benefits analysis and recommendations
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, participating in professional societies, and maintaining ASQ-certified quality engineer qualification
- Counsel management in resolving complex, controversial problems requiring in-depth knowledge of technical aspects of quality assurance
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
- 3 – 7 years of experience in Quality position
- More than 3 years of experience in manufacturing or manufacturing support environment
- More than 3 years of experience do you have with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) processes and implementing corrective actions
- More than 3 years of experience reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications
- CAD Data Analysis experience (measurement & manipulation)
- Thorough of operating measurement equipment (CMM)
