What You'll Do
The Senior QA Engineer plays a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products that meet or exceed customer expectations. This role is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance process across multiple scrum teams, implementing rigorous testing practices, and enhancing user satisfaction through continuous improvement of QA methodologies. They will actively participate in product quality efforts, from test automation to security and performance testing, and will work closely with product and engineering teams to optimize the software development lifecycle.

  • Ownership of Product Quality:
    • Oversee product quality across more than one scrum team by leading test case creation, reviews, and coaching junior team members on best practices.
    • Ensure near-zero Priority 1 (P1) defects and minimize defect escape rates.
    • Leverage advanced domain knowledge to help team members understand the bigger picture and customer pain points.
    • Actively contribute to backlog grooming, user story creation, and mapping, and lead critical discussions on product features to foster collaborative thinking and decision-making.
  • Collaboration and Leadership:
    • Provide technical mentoring and guidance to junior team members to enhance their technical and product knowledge.
    • Collaborate extensively with external stakeholders (Product & Engineering) to define quality standards and test coverage.
    • Lead the roadmap for automation strategies, and ensure alignment of quality assurance goals with organizational objectives.
    • Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to improve the overall software delivery process.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Take ownership of test data creation and management, ensuring effective test scenarios are developed for comprehensive test coverage.
    • Lead the creation of test cases, test plans, and end-to-end (E2E) test strategies, ensuring a robust testing framework is in place.
    • Maintain expert-level knowledge of the product, identifying potential gaps, and providing feedback to the product team on product improvements.
  • Operational & Functional Excellence:
    • Lead the definition and design of the automation architecture and test case strategies, ensuring optimal testing flows.
    • Work closely with engineering and product teams to align on quality goals and expectations.
    • Use advanced knowledge of healthcare IT protocols (e.g., HIPAA, HL7, FHIR, X12) and tools to ensure compliance with industry standards.
    • Maintain a sense of urgency, ensuring deadlines are met while delivering high-quality results.

What You Need to Get the Job Done
Experience & Education:

  • 4+ years of position-specific experience in software quality assurance.
  • 3+ years of experience in mentorship and leading by example.
  • Relevant Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.​​​​​​​


Technical Skills:
Test automation is a critical focus of this role, with the Senior QA Engineer expected to lead the design, implementation, and evolution of robust automation frameworks that support rapid, high-quality releases. The ideal candidate will drive the automation strategy across teams, integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines, and mentor others to ensure scalable, maintainable, and efficient testing practices. 

  • Advanced Test Automation Architecture: Deep understanding of test automation frameworks, including POM and API test design.
  • Automation Code Craftsmanship: Expertise in writing efficient, maintainable automation code and applying design patterns like Page Object Model (POM).
  • Test Strategy & Design: Proven experience in defining test strategies, creating test plans, and designing complex end-to-end testing flows.
  • CI/CD Integration: Proficiency in configuring and integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Advanced Documentation Skills: Ability to document test cases, strategies, and results effectively.
  • Knowledge of Health IT Protocols: Understanding of HIPAA, HL7, FHIR, X12, and other healthcare protocols is an advantage.​​​​​​​

Certifications:

  • ISQTB or similar certification is a plus.
