Senior QA Engineer

Position:

The Senior QA Engineer will plan, document, prioritize and execute the black box testing activities required to deliver high quality product releases with a high velocity. Successful candidates will have extensive experience documenting test cases and tracking test results, creating clear defect reports, working collaboratively with other team members from all departments of the company, escalating when appropriate and managing risk. They will help coach and support less experienced team members and work closely with the SDETs to ensure the most appropriate and efficient test approach. They will work closely with customer-facing groups to acquire a deep understanding of compliance and security, in order to tailor the testing to the use cases most important to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the test case documentation efforts for our products
• Execute new feature and regression testing
• Create defects for every bug encountered
• Major player in a weekly bug backlog review
• Coordinate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to understand compliance and security

Required Skills:

• Strong experience translating product requirements into test cases
• Extensive experience testing web-based applications
• Ability to write SQL queries with simple join statements
• Hands on experience with Test Case Management systems
• Fluent in Agile/Scrum or Kanban
• Understanding and ability to justify when tradeoffs are appropriate
• Extensive experience using Agile project management tools such as Jira
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working collaboratively with distributed team members

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in Cybersecurity and Compliance
• Ability to write code in Python
• Hands on experience writing Selenium automation tests (not the chrome browser plug-in)
• Experience creating dashboards or reports
• API testing or automation experience

Education/Training, Qualifications, and Certification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field OR 6+ years of progressive QA experience
• Experience with the following are differentiators for an ideal candidate: API use (e.g., Postman, Swagger), .NET software development (especially unit testing), Python automated testing of APIs
• Strong written and verbal communication skills while working well as part of an integrated team
• Must be a US Citizen and capable of passing a background check and random periodic drug testing
