LOCATION: Apply Digital is a hybrid friendly organization with remote options available if needed. The preferred candidate should be based in (or within a location commutable to) the Delhi/NCR region of India, working in hours that have an overlap with the Eastern Standard Timezone (EST).
ABOUT THE CLIENT
In your initial role, you will support Kraft Heinz, a global, multi-billion-dollar leader in consumer packaged foods and a valued client of ours for the past three years. Apply Digital has a bold and comprehensive mandate to drive Kraft Heinz’s digital transformation. Through implementable strategies, cutting-edge technology, and data-driven innovation we aim to enhance consumer engagement and maximize business value for Kraft Heinz.
Our composable architecture, modern engineering practices, and deep expertise in AI, cloud computing, and customer data solutions have enabled game-changing digital experiences. Our cross-functional team has delivered significant milestones, including the launch of the What's Cooking App, the re-building of 120+ brand sites in over 20 languages, and most recently, the implementation of a robust Customer Data Platform (CDP) designed to drive media effectiveness. Our work has also been recognized internationally and has received multiple awards.
While your work will start with supporting Kraft Heinz, you will also have future opportunities to collaborate with the global team on other international brands.
THE ROLE:
Are you passionate about ensuring digital products meet the highest quality standards? Do you have a keen eye for detail, an analytical mindset, and a deep understanding of manual and exploratory testing methodologies? Are you excited to collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate functionality, performance, and usability across a range of digital experiences? If so, you may be ready to take on the Senior QA Engineer role within our team.
As a Senior QA Engineer, you will play a critical role in defining and executing test strategies, ensuring our web applications, APIs, and digital platforms function seamlessly. You will lead manual testing efforts, collaborate with developers, product teams, and automation engineers, and help drive best practices in quality assurance.
This role requires extensive experience in manual testing, defect tracking, risk-based testing, and test strategy development while working in modern software development environments.
What You'll Do:
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for web applications, digital experiences and APIs.
- Conduct functional, regression, exploratory, and usability testing, ensuring a seamless user experience across supported devices and browsers.
- Identify, document, and prioritize defects, working closely with engineers to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
- Perform cross-browser and cross-device testing, ensuring compatibility across desktop, mobile, and tablet environments.
- Apply risk-based testing principles to focus efforts on high-impact areas, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and QA automation engineers to establish best practices in testing and quality assurance.
- Support API testing efforts, validating REST and GraphQL endpoints using tools like Postman.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior and intermediate QA engineers, promoting a culture of quality-first development.
- Assist in setting up and maintaining test environments, ensuring stability and reliability for test execution.
- Analyze test results and provide reports on quality metrics, defect trends, and areas of improvement.
What We're Looking For:
- Strong proficiency in English (written and verbal communication) is required.
- Experience working with remote teams across North America and Latin America, ensuring smooth collaboration across time zones.
- 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with a strong focus on manual testing and test strategy development.
- Deep understanding of QA methodologies, best practices, and Agile/Scrum development principles.
- Experience writing and executing detailed test cases for complex web applications and APIs.
- Proficiency with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira).
- Hands-on experience testing APIs (REST and GraphQL), using automation tools such as Postman.
- Strong knowledge of cross-browser and cross-device testing methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze issues and collaborate on effective solutions.
- Experience mentoring other QA engineers, providing guidance on testing best practices and methodologies.
Nice To Haves:
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and cloud-based test environments.
- Familiarity with Playwright or other automation tools to collaborate with QA Automation Engineers on automation strategies.
- Experience with performance testing tools.
- Understanding of containerized testing environments using Docker.
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices, ensuring tests validate authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth, JWT).
- Familiarity with headless CMS platforms such as Contentful.
- Experience testing integrations with Algolia, Segment, and Talon.One.
