About The Role
Brighton Health Plan Solutions is seeking a strategic, experienced Senior Proposal Writer to develop compelling proposals and help drive company growth and client retention to join our growing team. The preferred candidate will have experience in proposal writing and execution with a health insurance carrier, a health plan TPA, a PBM, or a health and wellness company. The Senior Proposal Writer candidate should have exceptional project management skills, a keen attention for detail, a commitment to producing high quality deliverables, and the ability to handle multiple projects independently. The desired individual will have the ability to tell a persuasive story throughout each proposal, while effectively communicating our value proposition and addressing customer-specific requirements. The Senior Proposal Writer position is a remote position, but we will accommodate hybrid or office-based options for candidates in the greater NYC area. This is an individual contributor role.
Primary Responsibilities
- Directly lead the crafting, writing and copyediting of clear, concise, complete and compelling proposals that comply with RFI/RFP requirements, company and product value proposition, branding, and technical product content.
- Support both formal RFP/RFIs and bespoke/custom proposal requests from end-to-end.
- Project manage complex RFI/RFP responses, organizing responsibilities, meetings, RFP overviews, and all deliverables.
- Write persuasive cover letters and executive summaries that align with the RFP requirements.
- Have the ability to learn, understand, and retain product knowledge for multiple products across several markets.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to write new content for proposals.
- Facilitate reviews with key proposal content contributors and incorporate new information and improvements to existing content.
- Assemble final proposals, including attachments.
- Work with the Creative team to format custom proposals and to create supporting graphics.
- Collaborate with the Proposal Coordinator to add content to the Qvidian database.
- Regularly update proposal templates, attachments, and files uploaded to our SharePoint site.
- Support finalist and client retention presentations, including copy editing, slide content development, and formatting.
- Support other business development needs as identified by the team Director or AVP.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in English or Journalism, or related degree.
- Prefer 2+ years and deep insight into health plan/health insurance market or a related field (e.g., plan management, provider networks, medical management, wellness, PBM, TPA services).
- 4+ years of experience writing and coordinating complex proposals/RFPs.
- Excellent writing, proofreading, and copyediting skills and ability to weave together a winning narrative aligned with sales objectives and RFP requirements.
- Highly proficient in MS Office, SharePoint, and working with proposal database software (Qvidian preferred).
- Team player with strong leadership, collaboration, strategic thinking, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Adapts easily to change and introduction of new products/services, including ability to create proposal content when details are ambiguous, and resource guides are limited or not available.
- Ability to turn complex information into easy-to-understand, persuasive, and on-brand responses.
- Accepts feedback and recommendations from team leaders, senior leadership, and sales, while communicating positively and professionally.
- Self-starter with a proven track record of flawless project management. Shipley Method training or APMP certification a plus.
- Successful track record of working with senior management, subject matter experts, and sales teams.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
- Superior attention to detail, quality, and deadlines.
- Flexibility to work extra hours when required for time-sensitive projects.

Annual Salary Range: $85,000 - $95,000
The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of the posting of an advertisement and may be modified in the future.
