The opportunity

With our competence center Power Converter Solutions, we have a leading position in the development, manufacturing, installation and commissioning of high power electronic converters mainly for STATCOM and rail power supply systems. We also provide solutions for hydro pump stations and grid interties. With our highly efficient converters we contribute to the integration of renewable energies into the electrical grid of tomorrow and at the same time increase the overall system efficiency.

To strengthen our control engineering team, we are looking for a highly motivated and dedicated Senior Project Control Engineer with interest in power electronics and control technology. You have a quick perception as well as an independent, structured, and proactive work style, this is the right challenge for you – join us.

How you’ll make an impact

• Project planning of hardware and software for power electronic converters including preparation of concept, specification and documentation

• Technical coordination between customer, sub-suppliers and our own factory

• Defining the hardware interfaces including evaluation of electrical components, calculation and design review

• Providing technical expertise for the customer and your colleagues

• Assigning tasks within our international project team including coordination and mentoring

• Ensure on time delivery with focus on quality and cost

• Perform commissioning and customer training on site

• Support the sales department during the concept and tender phase

• Assisting customers on technical issues of the converter during office hours and on-call duty service (24x7) several weeks per year

• Collaborate with your colleagues from the control, system- and mechanical engineering team as well as the project manager

Your background

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering (university / technical college, Bachelor or Master)

• Working experience in process control and software design (OLC, CLC, Protection, HMI)

• Ability to code in Python is a plus

• Knowledge on communication protocols (OPC, IEC61850, IEC60870-5-104, DNP3, etc.)

• Comprehensive knowledge in the field of control engineering and power electronics

• Experience in testing and commissioning

• You are fluent in German and English

• Enjoy global traveling and commissioning of 15% of the working time

• Responsible team player with strong communication skills

• Fast learner for new techniques / applications and procedures

• Experience of working in multicultural / international environment
