We are seeking a senior product manager to define and drive the product roadmap of Quantum-Si’s Next-Gen Protein Sequencing™platforms. The role sits within the commercial team, reporting to the VP of Product Marketing. A successful candidate will have an enthusiastic, entrepreneurial work ethic. This person will work closely with R&D, corporate marketing, sales, and field service.
As part of our team, your responsibilities will be:
Product Strategy, Roadmap, and Requirements
- Define and execute the target product profile, and product requirements for new instruments, reagents, and software for Quantum-Si’s Next-Gen Protein Sequencing platforms.
- Analyze proteomics opportunities, competition and trends to prioritize target applications and segments
- Work closely with customers, sales, and service to understand market requirements and trends and create business case for these requirements informing product strategy.
- Serve as voice of customer and commercial champion on new product core teams, leading by influence as an advocate for the customer and business.
- Work closely with R&D to align commercial ambition and ensure product requirements are prioritized and successfully implemented in the product design.
- Develop and execute strategical and tactical plans.
Product Pricing and Operations
- Lead pricing strategy product and services based on value, competition, and cost analysis.
- Ensure pricing enables field sales success by determining optimal catalog pricing and providing guidance on appropriate discounting and promotions.
- Establish pricing, part numbers, BOM to facilitate effective sales operations in direct and distribution channels
Product Positioning
- Perform competitive and market analysis on products and services to properly define pricing, positioning, and messaging and successfully differentiate Quantum-Si’s product to shape the market.
- Develop effective message maps to position products and work with commercial marketing to deliver messaging for marketing collateral, campaigns and sales enablement.
- Train commercial team on value proposition, positioning, and messaging to win in the market and create consistency across the organization.
Product Launch, Maintenance, and End of Life
- Manage entire product lifecycle from cradle to grave.
- Launch new products and lead go to market priorities with key stakeholders
- Maintain communication with key customers to drive successful testing of new products, and communicate customer feedback to R&D.
- Establish metrics to measure effectiveness and drive improvements.
Qualifications
Baseline skills/experiences/attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree (Masters or PhD degree preferred) in life sciences or engineering
- 5+ years of product management experience for life science platform companies in proteomics, molecular biology or DNA sequencing markets.
- Experience defining, launching, and maintaining life science platform solutions inclusive of instrument, reagents, and software
- Strong technical understanding of proteomic and/or next generation sequencing workflows (preference for both).
- Experience working with functional departments in sales, marketing, service, assay development, engineering, and software development.
- Experience gathering customer/market feedback and effectively communicating technical user requirements for assay, software, and instrument product roadmap.
- Strong time and project management skills.
- Thrives in a startup, rapidly growing, company environment. Can pivot when necessary and stay positive.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, great computer skills.
- Take initiative and have a strong growth mindset.
- Ability to travel 25%
- Ideally, located in Branford, CT or in San Diego, CA.
The estimated base salary range for this role based in the United States of America is: $130,000 - $195,000. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, level of the position, an individual’s skills, knowledge and abilities, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all full-time employees are eligible for our discretionary bonus program and equity as part of the compensation package.
