About your role:
We are currently seeking a dynamic Senior Forecasting Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of energy procurement, hedging, position management, and demand forecasting for the BGB Gas portfolio. Your responsibilities will include creating, implementing, and reviewing operational forecasts to manage the hedge, as well as reporting performance metrics to our key stakeholders. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact on our mission and help shape the future of energy management for our customers.
- Hedging & Reporting: Ensure the gas portfolio is hedged according to governance frameworks and create performance metrics for accurate margin reporting.
- Forecasting: Develop short and long-term gas forecasts using statistical and mathematical modeling skills.
- Data Management & Reporting: Manage datasets, develop sophisticated statistical models, and produce reports for key stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Finance and Commercial teams to enhance reporting of volumetric and financial positions related to hedging and forecasting.
- Project Coordination & Representation: Coordinate forecasting projects to ensure data quality and represent BGB at industry forums.
Here's what we’re looking for:
- Excellent numerical, written and verbal communication skills which have been demonstrated in an energy forecasting role.
- Comfortable handling complex numeric data.
- Understanding of the commodities markets and energy forecasting.
- Awareness of financial risk management and the risks associated with pricing and hedging activities.
- Technical software skills required are SQL, Python, R, SAS, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Excel and Power BI.
