Position Summary: 

Responsible for day-to-day lab operation tasks in an analytical lab setting, including the ordering, shipping, and receiving of materials and tracking of associated documentation, routine maintenance of common ancillary lab equipment, and overseeing the ordering and stocking of lab supplies. Implement improvements to new and existing processes. Demonstrates leadership capabilities with junior staff.

Responsibilities:
•    Ensure lab compliance by performing routine calibration and maintenance of ancillary equipment. Ensure proper implementation of new equipment including site preparation requirements, coordination with vendors, for install and training for end users. Also responsible for implementation and scheduling of service contracts and PMs.
•    Support the development and revision of SOPs, completion of periodic reviews, and other quality documentation.
•    Lead the management of contracts with service providers and act as a liaison between the vendors and accounts payable.
•    Identify and mitigate risks with controls, procedures, and training.
•    Lead junior staff to Identify, manage, and implement improvements for existing
•    and new processes, as well as lead operations projects from conception
•    through completion.
•    Order and maintain necessary levels of laboratory supplies.
•    Shipping and receiving materials, samples, and supplies.

Requirements: 
•    Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences and 4+ years industry experience.
•     Knowledge of the operations typical to the biotechnical/pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
•    Communicate effectively with scientific staff, vendors, and managers.
•    Ability to maintain organization of space, documentation, and materials to ensure smooth workflow and tracking. Pays great attention to detail in a multitasking environment to ensure accuracy. Ability to adhere to strict lab safety guidelines.
•    Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts for the purposes of tracking inventories and making simple calculations in spreadsheet applications.
•    Computer skills: Word processing, spreadsheets, internet, and email.
•    Equipment Use: Computer, telephone, lab equipment.

Salary Range: $62,550 - $86,007
Salary range provided per current averages and expectations. The salary and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience and may be outside this range.
