The Role
We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer to take a leading role in designing and maintaining a secure and robust network infrastructure critical to our payment platforms. This position is central to our Network Team, focusing on both cloud and colocation environments. You will oversee the daily operations essential for the smooth and efficient functioning of our networks, to achieve maximum uptime to ensure uninterrupted payment processing. Your responsibilities will include the creation of configurations for enterprise-level network infrastructure, meticulous documentation, supervision of network installations, and proactive maintenance and upgrades of existing infrastructures.
Who We Are Looking For…
You will be a skilled Network Engineer ready to shape solutions for our colocation and cloud infrastructure. This role involves managing infrastructure across five physical Data Centers in the UK, Paris, and Frankfurt, and covers a wide range of responsibilities from site access and equipment procurement to logistics, capacity management, performance optimization, service availability, and computational resources management.
In this role, you will
- Lead in architecting, engineering, and deploying low latency network infrastructures.
- Oversee and participate in installations, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, security components, software solutions, and connectivity.
- Manage multiple projects and configure the network to achieve low latency performance.
- Maintain a strong passion for technology with self-driven enthusiasm.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Designing and implementing robust network architectures that support the high-volume, high-security needs of payment processing environments
- Ensuring the security of network, which is crucial in the payments industry
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to routing, switching, firewall, and capacity.
- Provide expert guidance on data center deployments.
- Ensuring all network practices comply with industry standards and legal regulations, such as PCI to protect customer data.
- Leading and mentoring junior network engineers and collaborating with other IT and cybersecurity professionals to enhance network capabilities and security
- Conduct cost analyses for new hardware, software, and circuit investments.
- Researching new technologies and implementing innovations that can enhance the efficiency, security, and functionality of the network infrastructure
- Continuously monitor and optimize network performance.
What You Will Bring
- Experience with Financial Networks: Knowledge of financial industry-specific networking technologies, such as those used in high-frequency trading platforms or banking systems, can be particularly valuable.
- Exceptional Interpersonal Skills: Ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels and across multiple locations.
- Can-Do Attitude: A proactive approach, willing to tackle challenges head-on and seek out solutions.
- Process-Oriented: Strong capability in fostering correct practices among diverse teams.
- Thrives in Dynamic Environments: Comfortable working in fast-paced settings requiring adaptability and quick decision-making.
- Methodical Approach to Change: Structured and organized response to changes.
- Strong Technical Acumen: Ability to provide clear instructions to both technical and non-technical team members.
- Effective Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Technical Skills
- Minimum CCNP Certification.
- Deep understanding of OSI and TCP/IP models.
- Extensive knowledge of routing and switching protocols.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco network equipment (Catalyst and Nexus series), as well as ASA, Firepower 2130, and FMC.
- Strong proficiency in network security policies and SD-WAN implementation.
- Skilled in network monitoring, diagnostics, and analytics tools.
- Ability to design secure and highly available network architectures.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as GCP and AWS.
- Solid experience with network automation.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across diverse projects, willing to travel when required, and able to participate in an on-call support rotation as part of a high-performing team.
