Goals:

  • To build our customers network infrastructure according to design, statement of work and in line with bA delivery standard and practices
  • To provide excellence in Project Engineering skills and communication, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • To be a network infrastructure engineer (level 3) within blueAPACHE’s Professional Services Network Team
  • To be an available escalation point for the network provisioning engineers
  • To stay up to date with network and network security technologies and trends within the industry, ensuring solutions utilised are suited to the technologies supported by blueAPACHE.
  • To ensure blueAPACHE are meeting its obligations regarding delivery timeframe, standards, and practices
  • To proactively suggest improvements within our proposed network architecture, best practices, and other standards to improve service and value for both our customer and blueAPACHE.
Requirements
  • Tertiary Education e.g. Bachelor’s/Master’s degree.
  • Previous role with an IT&T System Integrator, Professional Consulting Services, or similar organisation.
  • At least 5+ years in a network engineering role.
  • Must have current CCNP (or equivalent) certification.
  • Strong knowledge and industry experience across a range of networking technologies including vendors such as Fortinet, Cisco/Meraki, HP-Aruba, and Palo Alto.
  • Industry experience working within the ITIL framework (ITIL certifications highly regarded).


Strong understanding and demonstrated experience in the use of following technologies.

  • Next Gen Firewalls (FortiGate, Palo Alto and Cisco Meraki)
  • Routing (FortiGate, Cisco/Meraki)
  • SD-WAN (FortiGate and Meraki)
  • Switching (Cisco/Meraki, HP/Aruba)
  • Wireless (Aruba, Cisco, Meraki)


Highly regarded to have experience around following:

  • Linux (RedHat and Ubuntu).
  • Service Provider Routing experience.
  • Security Appliances (IPS/IDS, ClearPass, ISE, MFA, Web Proxy).
  • Orchestration Tools (FortiManager, Forti Analyser and EMS).
  • Log Management (Syslog, SIEM).
  • Network Load Balancing.
  • Azure and AWS Networking (Express Route and VPC).
  • Practical understanding of the following technologies.
  • Microsoft Windows including Active Directory & radius services.
  • SAN and Virtualised environments, particularly relating to the Network implications.
  • Disaster Recovery techniques.
  • Security processes and procedures.
  • Strong project delivery skills.
  • Working knowledge of the ITIL IT Service Management Framework.
  • High level of analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong documentation skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and implementation of wired and wireless network solutions, as well as auditing and remediation of existing networks
  • Develop High/Low Level design, planning and migration documents across multiple technologies
  • In collaboration with the Project Manager, ensure solutions are being delivered in line with design, statement of work and scheduling milestones
  • Network design, configuration, testing, and cutover is done to ensure delivered solution is scalable, secure, redundant, and reliable
  • Deliver technical projects individually and as a Team.
  • Assist Network Provisioning and Field Services Team for WAN Services configuration, testing and cutover where required.
  • Resolve incidents related to project activities as per Ticket SLA
  • Adhere to Incident and Change Management processes as per blueAPACHE/customer standards (ITIL Framework).
  • Identify road-blockers and provide alternate approach and/or escalate to engineering manager if required
  • Manage project plans and deliver work to agreed priorities, manage own workload to achieve results to agreed standards and within agreed time frames, provide reports of progress as required to engineering and project managers
  • Provide relevant Project Artefacts (AS-BUILT, Detailed Design and Planning Document, UAT, etc) to Project Manager.
  • Ensure swift handover of project to bA/Customer’s operations Team and provide high level training if required
  • Assist Service Provider Team to maintain and upgrade Core/MPLS network where required
  • Undergo Vendor Trainings or complete self-study to address skill gaps and attain certification as directed by business
  • Travel to customer sites for any project related work if required
