The Senior Network Engineer is a key position in the networking team responsible for managing and supporting the infrastructure on-premise and in the Azure Cloud, including designing, deploying, and maintaining the environments. This role involves working with cloud technologies, networking, security, and system administration with Azure ecosystem, LAN, WAN, and Internet.
Job Relationships:
The Senior Network Engineer is part of the Networking and Network Security team that reports directly to the Director of IT Network and UC. The Senior Network Engineer must interface effectively with directors, managers, and staff in all department areas, including Operations, Applications Support, Programming, and Help Desk, in all offices throughout the Firm.
The Senior Network Engineer is part of a team responsible for day-to-day operational and technical support in systems, security & network engineering across all systems and platforms.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design and implement network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and cloud environment.
- Develop network topology and evaluate technology for high performance, scalability, and security.
- Maintain and monitor network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, SDWAN, and NAC).
- Perform network upgrades, patch management, and network access control
- Provide advanced troubleshooting for the cloud environment and on-premise network-related issues.
- Work with other IT teams and external vendors to resolve network issues.
- Respond to network emergencies and provide support during outages.
- Maintain detailed documentation for network configurations, design, and procedures.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and other stakeholders.
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer or similar role.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts such as IP addressing, routing protocols (e.g., BGP), VLANs, NAT, etc.
- Hands-on experience with networking tools (e.g., Wireshark, Solarwinds).
- Hand-on experience and good knowledge of Azure cloud networking.
- Proficiency with DNS and DHCP
- Network Access Control (NAC)
- Proficiency with s
- Proficiency in SD-WAN technology
- Cloud computing service in Microsoft Azure
- Deep understanding of IPSEC, GRE, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, 802.11, and QoS
- Knowledge of the OSI or TCP/IP model
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytics tools
Qualifications:
Education: BA/BS degree in a related technical discipline preferred. Network certifications are a strong plus. Law firm experience is a plus.
Experience: The ideal candidate has at least 4 years of experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment supporting a high-performance, converged enterprise network. We seek a skilled individual combining excellent operational judgment with network engineering and troubleshooting skills. The candidate must be able to execute tasks and make sound decisions in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Close attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure are essential.

The actual salary offered will be based on a number of factors including but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
