Job Summary:
The Network/Security Administrator participates in all phases of the corporate networking infrastructure and system lifecycle including design, implementation, testing and deployment. Furthermore, they oversee network design, enhancements, and upgrades for improved performance, security posture and reliability. This includes recommending purchases or upgrades, coordinating system planning and maintenance, collaborating with carriers, and addressing network issues with thorough incident reviews and proposed solutions. With the use of advanced technology, the network administrator works in an agile environment producing a data network that our customers will use every day.
Responsibilities:

Designs, configures, and maintains network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.

Designs, configures, and maintains server infrastructure related to network infrastructure such as DHCP and DNS servers, NAC, IPAM, etc.

Monitors network performance and troubleshoots network issues to ensure optimal operation and minimal downtime.

Implements and manages network security measures, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls, to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches.

Collaborates with security teams to perform regular network audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and address potential security risks.

Collaborates with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and interoperability of network systems with other technologies.

Performs regular backups and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability.

Manages network documentation, including network diagrams, IP address assignments, and equipment inventory.

Assists with the procurement and installation of network equipment and services.

Maintains latest industry trends and best practices in network administration.

Provides escalated technical support and troubleshoots assistance to end-users.

Monitors network capacity and bandwidth utilization to ensure optimal performance.
Required Skills:
-
Expert knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching technologies. Proficiency in network configuration and management tools, such as Cisco IOS, Cisco ISE, Meraki Juniper Junos and Mist, Prisma Access VPN, and/or Palo Alto PAN-OS.

Experience with cloud-based network configuration management, SASE, and ZTNA.

Experience with network tools, such as Wireshark, Netbox, Nagios, or SolarWinds.

Knowledge of network security principles and best practices, including VPNs, firewalls, SASE, ZTNA, and IPS/IDS, etc.

Familiar with Linux and Windows Server system administration.

Knowledge of best practices for incident, problem, and change management.

Understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, DNS, IGP and EGP, application network performance, etc.

Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or certification equivalency in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

Certifications desired: CCNP, DevNet Certifications, JCNIP-ENT, PCNSE

7+ years of relevant experience.
