At Lytx, we harness the power of video and data to help fleets improve safety, efficiency, and productivity. As part of our growing in-house Creative Studio, we're looking for a Senior Motion Designer to help elevate our brand and storytelling through sophisticated animation, illustration, and art direction.
In this role, you'll work independently and collaboratively on a diverse range of projects—developing creative concepts, building storyboards, designing assets, producing polished motion graphics (2D and 3D) and delivering final videos of varying lengths and formats. You’ll partner closely with our Video Producer and cross-functional teams to create content that drives business impact, enhances brand perception, and engages our audiences. You are an expert in your creative field who brings a strong conceptual and editorial point of view to your craft. You are also a driver; someone who enjoys moving fast and creating impact in a creative-driven fast-paced environment.
You’ll Get To:
-
Design and animate compelling motion graphics for channels including web, social, sales decks, product videos, trade shows and conferences and branded content.
-
Translate creative briefs and scripts into storyboards, mood boards, and visual concepts that align with strategic objectives.
-
Take ownership of the visual language for motion projects, ensuring all outputs consistently reflect and elevate our brand identity across all touchpoints.
-
Lead the visual development of motion projects, setting the tone through illustration, type, and layout.
-
Collaborate with the Video Producer to integrate motion design into live-action and editorial videos.
-
Lead the development of motion templates, and visual standards that scale across the organization.
-
Provide collaborative feedback and guidance, elevating overall creative output.
-
Explore and apply new animation techniques, tools, and technologies (2D/3D) to elevate our content.
-
Engage in strategic conversations with marketing and product partners to ensure creative alignment with business goals.
What You’ll Need:
-
6–8 years of experience in motion design or animation, ideally with a mix of agency and in-house brand work.
-
Deep proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop; experience with 3D tools (e.g. Cinema 4D, Blender) is a strong plus.
-
A portfolio that demonstrates creative thinking, strong storytelling, and a mastery of motion principles across formats and platforms. Strong design and illustration skills are a strong plus.
-
Ability to independently solve complex design challenges using a mix of creative intuition, technical skill, and business understanding.
-
Demonstrated ability to lead projects of limited to moderate scope with minimal oversight.
-
Comfort working through ambiguity, with a growing ability to consider the broader strategic and competitive context in your design decisions.
-
A contributor mindset—you’re not just executing, but helping shape new creative approaches, models, and systems.
-
Strong communication skills and the ability to tailor ideas and feedback for different audiences, from designers to stakeholders.
-
Experience mentoring or guiding others, even informally, and a desire to help raise the bar across the team.
-
Degree in related field of Art, Design, Marketing, or Visual Effects or equivalent experience.
