This hybrid/remote role offers the flexibility to work from various US locations, including Bland VA, South Boston VA, and Raleigh NC, depending on your experience. You will play a crucial role in creating and completing bids, estimations, and quotations based on customer RFQs or requirements. Your efforts will ensure competitive bids that achieve market competitiveness and desired margins for the company. As a marketing proposal engineer, you will lead techno-commercial bid preparation, coordinate with internal stakeholders, and negotiate bids with the front-end sales team. How You'll Make an Impact

Review opportunities and RFQ requests from the Salesforce database.

Maintain Salesforce database for individual quotes and opportunities.

Lead and coordinate all activities related to bid creation and completion.

Prepare proposals using Nextra and standard templates.

Review and finalize terms and conditions with the internal contract/legal team.

Read technical specifications, prepare BOM, costing, and define pricing.

Request designs for bids from engineering when needed.

Conduct risk reviews at local, Hub, or company level.

Arrange prerequisites for bid submission like insurance certificates and bid bonds.

Prepare full cost models and obtain necessary approvals.

Ensure timely and accurate bid documentation and submission.

Collaborate with various sales channels to support bid negotiations.

Follow up with sales representatives to track potential order pipelines.

Respond to customer questions and coordinate with engineering and operations.

Review purchase orders and ensure alignment with offered scope.

Book orders into SAP and conduct handover meetings to transfer orders to the customer success/project management team.

Your Background
-
Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the transformer business.

Experience in tendering, marketing, engineering, project management, or similar roles within the transformer industry.

Product knowledge of dry distribution and/or liquid-filled distribution transformers.
-
Work authorization to permit employment with Hitachi Energy in the United States.

Proficiency with Salesforce.com, Microsoft Office tools, and Power BI.

Ability to manage and understand transformer technical specifications and commercial requirements.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong relationship management and leadership abilities.

Ability to work within a matrix organization and lead teams.
