As a senior member of Iress’ Risk & Compliance team (a ‘Second Line’ function), you will deliver risk oversight, guidance and leadership to business units across the organisation. This includes supporting business and functional teams to establish their own risk management and monitoring processes, providing coaching and training around core risk management principles (such as risk identification, assessment and risk treatment, as well as controls design, implementation and testing), and role-modelling best practice risk behaviours and decision-making.

At the same time, you will also work collaboratively with your colleagues in the Risk & Compliance team to perform key “oversight” responsibilities, including risk policy / framework design and enhancement, communicating key risk frameworks, appetite and strategies to the wider organisation, undertaking control assessment and assurance activities, and measuring, monitoring and reporting material risks to the Leadership Team and the Board, as required. 

Some of the awesome things you’ll be involved with:

  • Design and establish risk frameworks and policies, in alignment with Iress’ Risk Management Framework, and monitor implementation at the business-unit level

  • Support the rollout of Iress’ new Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) system, enabling business units to uplift their risk management processes, governance and reporting

  • Deliver risk management training, coaching and guidance to business units, risk owners and control owners, to improve organisation-wide understanding and awareness of risk management principles and approaches

  • Take charge of risk-related projects, including initiatives associated with the Iress Risk Strategy, designed to uplift risk management and risk culture across Iress

  • Perform Risk Appetite Statement and Key Risk Indicator monitoring and reporting, as well as deep dive analysis of key risks or controls assessments, as required

  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of Iress’ risk management policies, procedures and training

  • Drive change and foster a culture of continuous improvement around risk management within Iress


What you will bring:

  • Tertiary qualification/s in Business, Commerce and/or a Technology-related field

  • Experience in a Line 1 or Line 2 operational risk role, ideally within banking, financial services or professional services

  • Team player with strong leadership, collaboration, influencing and project management skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Demonstrated experience in policy design and process documentation

  • Highly proficient in supporting risk and control owners with risk management and monitoring processes (such as risk identification, assessment and risk treatment, as well as controls design, implementation and testing)

  • Proven ability to analyse, present and communicate data clearly and succinctly
