JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Manager, Global Public Relations will lead and manage AGC Biologics’ public relations and media relations strategy, working closely together with the Global Marketing, Business Development, and Executive Leadership teams. This individual will be responsible for building and nurturing strong relationships with key media outlets, industry influencers, and stakeholders, while proactively securing media coverage to elevate AGC Biologics' brand presence worldwide. The Senior Manager will also support crisis communications when needed and manage sponsorships with industry associations.
This role demands a highly proactive, calm, and mature PR professional with the ability to cultivate a strong network of media contacts and communicate effectively in diverse cultural settings. This role will report to the Head of Global Marketing.
This position is based at our Global Headquarters in Bothell, Washington, and is a hybrid role with the expectation to be in the office a minimum of three days per week. There may also be occasional global travel to our other key offices in Europe and Japan.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute AGC Biologics’ global public relations strategy, aligning with the company’s goals, brand position, objectives, and values
- Pro-actively develop Public Relations campaigns aligned with the overall Global Marketing strategy and annual calendar of planned activities and focus messages
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key media contacts and industry influencers to secure positive media coverage across relevant global markets
- Proactively pitch story ideas, manage media outreach, and engage with journalists to elevate AGC Biologics’ profile within the industry and beyond
- Collaborate with the AGC Inc. PR team to ensure alignment on messaging, media strategy, and crisis communication across the global organization
- Lead crisis communications efforts, including message development and media handling, to protect and manage the company’s reputation during critical situations
- Manage industry sponsorships, working with industry associations to secure opportunities for thought leadership, branding, and visibility
- Provide strategic counsel to executives and leadership teams, preparing them for media interviews, speaking engagements, and public appearances
- Monitor and report on media coverage and public sentiment, providing insights to inform future PR strategies
- Work across different cultures, establishing relationships with international media and stakeholders to drive global media coverage in top cities where customers are located
- Act as the company’s PR spokesperson, managing press inquiries and serving as a point of contact for external media relations
- Develop and manage PR materials, including press releases, media kits, key messaging, and other communications assets

- Executive presence, with the ability to effectively counsel senior leaders and represent the company in public-facing situations
- Crisis management skills, including the ability to remain calm, composed, and strategic under pressure
- Skilled in global communications, with an understanding of how to navigate different media landscapes and cultural nuances
- Strong relationship-building abilities, with a knack for establishing new media contacts and nurturing existing relationships
- A mature, respectful demeanor, able to handle high-pressure situations and complex communication challenges with professionalism
- Proactive and results-oriented, with a willingness to engage in outreach when necessary to advance the company’s PR objectives
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Minimum a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field
- Minimum 10 years of experience in marketing and a specialty in public and media relations for at least 7 years
- Proven ability to develop and execute media strategies, secure media placements, and manage high-level sponsorships
- Experience in crisis communications and managing sensitive situations with professionalism
- Excellent writing and editing skills; strong executive communication and presentation skills
- Experience working with global teams and understanding cultural differences in PR strategy
Preferred:
- Experience in the life sciences or biotech industry
- Familiarity with media landscapes in international markets, particularly Europe and Asia
- Existing network of media contacts in life sciences or healthcare sectors
COMPENSATION
$124,320 - $170,940
